Just Like the Sun

She laid in the grass
Gazing at the sky
Watching the sun
She thought of you
That chestnut smooth brown skin
Eyes as black as space
You’re the sky of her stars
Big hands and strong arms
That once held her so tight
It rivaled her own skin
At this thought she gives a shy sweet grin
Warm life giving and consistent
Your love is just like the sun

Worth

What is a womans worth now a days?
I have given you my body for free
You called me a cheap whore
I equated my sweet womanly love
For all currency
Now I'm that bitch you say
Body worthless because its sold
Like its on a shelf in the corner store
So I shut you all out
closed my legs to all men
Now i can't even get a second date
A text or tweet not even a Facebook mention
All you poets, writers, men from my time
Answer me this whats a woman worth now a days?
Cause I want love, passion, money, respect, and friendship
But I want it all from one man
My future husband
Who's probably somewhere thinking
All us women are worthless

She Was My Friend

That girl sure did shine
Like the brightest diamond in my eyes
That girl was my only true friend
Plenty of nights we stayed up and got super drunk
Talked about our dreams or the men we've been seeing
My friend squeezed her fist raised her arms
And even fought with me
Those girls who came on scene
And tried to fight little ole me
This girl would never hurt her dear friend Tee
Or so she liked to have me believe
You can kinda say I slightly sensed her jealousy
But I let it go
Jealous for what? We are one in the same
Plenty times she disrespected and called me out of my name
I thought that was just her
My girl hardly ever said anything that wasn't a bad word or threat
Until I picked up her phone on one random day
Saw the message that read
Im sick of this girl they call Tee Marie
If she didn't pay for everything
And I didn't need the money
I am one she would never see
I hung my head low in disbelief
how could my diamond girl feel this way about me
I let fools gold get too close to me
