Black Lives Matter

We march for we are tired of the abuse
We speak out for we are tired of being misused
We march for we demand for our lives to matter
We speak out for our lives to be valued like the American dollar
You value your jobs and comfortable living with family you hold dear
You should see we're just trying to live the same without being in fear
You and I are one in the same just different colors of skin
You look upon us as if coming to this land where we were once slaves now free is a sin
400 years we suffered at the hands of whips and chains
400 years we suffered being belittled and taken in vain
400 years we suffered loss due to this ongoing war that never ends
400 years needs to change and broaden the views of all for this message I send
Is to say it's time to take a stand and unite for black lives matter
Is to say we minorities are trying to live and provide for our family
Is to say as we march along the streets through our anger and chatter
We just want to walk alongside you hand and hand and be thought about daily
Not as another mistake who deserves to die by the hands of injustice
Not as another sin of God's creations that was a mistaken race
But as people who are just trying to live and do what we can fighting for justice
But as survivors who are trying to pave the way for a future generation among the surface
And teach that the world isn't so bad for there are those who care
And show that your beautiful inside and out as God's children none can take away
And preach there will be those who still will view your skin weak to compare
But always remember God is the one who rules over all and he has the final say
And as his children he watches over his own and his love is powerful to unite the world if we take a stand

Words of Appreciation

Growing up my eyes grew clear than ever before
Not knowing how the world would view my talent
Feeling like an outcast behind a closed door
Back when I shunned the world those nights spent
Reflecting on if my talent would ever be heard
Before somebody would turn me down saying I was absurd
Now I'm accepted into a community where I feel so free
Where I'm not judged but praised for being the real me
Letting words of soul and feelings out the spark of my light
Never a day goes by when I remember hiding it all at night
Where a poet like me would just dream of being somebody
And a world before shunned him and called him a nobody
Things are different now as I grow more stronger each day
Because of people like you allowing me to open my light's ray

Darkness Cry For Light

A world of darkness that's a void of emptiness inside
A bottomless pit that has no end as you fall deeper
A wall of shame showing past regrets you cover and hide
A waterfall of sadness and sorrow that never dries it's a repeater
Of your lows that drains away your purpose and light in life
Of the struggles you face feelings of not getting over
Of your heart ever so slowly shattering trying to stay alive
Of your spirit losing faith and belief that you'll never climb back and recover
From the storms in our mind that makes it hard to seize the day
From the hurt in your heart that hits heavy in your chest
From the iceblock you freeze yourself in and have nothing to say
From the isolated four walls you buried yourself in laying in to rest
This feeling I speak of is depression a mood where the devil lies
Temptation of suicide at a all time high and the clock not turning back
To a point where happiness was once possible and a love that never dies
But when you been in that world for so long it's hard to find a crack
Of light glimmering on the other side calling out to you
Of loving arms reaching out trying to help you get through
Of compassion of others whose been in that world of hurt
Of care whose there to comfort and pick you up from the dirt
So I dance to find a passion staying away from that world
I dance to stay warm and positive rather than be alone and so cold
Also I write to reflect where I once was in a stage of my years
I write to let my story be told and a way to let out the tears
I dance for all to admire and I write with gems in each to inspire
The world I once seen as hopeless and dim fades as cracks of light glimmer from above
As our father from heaven is pouring out blessings and love
A talent I get to share with each one of you all
And an inspiration to those who been in the same circle you can stand tall
For our loss, pain, grief, regrets, or sorrow is here for a season
Your still alive here with me and your meaning in life has reason
Pain is sometimes the hardest thing we can bare
But with pain comes strength and that strength can't compare
To the happiness and relief you'll feel of the other side of the rainbow

Personal Life Story of Mine

Those days when it was just you and I
You was the only one I caught feelings for
The angel in my heart and the apple of my eye
And a precious diamond that I couldn't ignore
We was the perfect two living out our dream
All was fine and we'd last forever it would seem
But who would've guess that it was all a lie
When I found out that your heart also loved another
I tried my best to be strong but I wanted to cry
Showed her the finer things and treated her like no other
A queen and poured out my heart to show it was real
Even wrote poetry to express to you how I feel
I didn't care about anyone else because I loved you
But in the end looking back at what we've been through
Days fighting trying to show I care is now lost
And in the end heartache and heartbreak was the cost
Things feel so different as I know I did the best that I could
Slowly I try to drift away but she crawls back slowly as she would
The other man is a player and she calls out missing me
Part of me just wants to turn the other way and say let it be
But the other half still loves her and needs her again
To stop the nightmare and cease the lasting pain
Chance after chance I let her back in my world
To in the end wind up being left bitter and cold
Is it wrong if I said a part of me still cares about her
Because when we started out she was perfect like no other
She only loved me and all she saw was a way to be free
Treated like a queen and a passion full of gold she would see
As hard as I tell myself I don't love her I know I'm wrong
Because she was the peace I needed to be so strong
All the memories I try to burn but can't light the match
For my heart and soul still need her and are so attach
To those days when we was perfect together
And my sunlight to protect me from the dark weather
As she crawls back again begging me to talk to her again
The scars and the bruises of the past still remain
Which half should I choose if you was me
Talk to her again or like a ghost disappear and leave her be

The Hidden Word

Through every word that's written he speaks through me
Even though I can't see him the presence I can feel
Everything from these words reflect upon who you see
That our father God almighty lives and he is real
My words are not my own as he speaks every word to inspire
People like you and me to let us be heard using our talents we admire
To picture a world where we can all come together
As brethren and sisters of Christ learning from one another
Every poem is different unique in its own way
From creative people like us love to write each day
Within the creativity is a message that is deep within
That to grasp the knowledge our eyes and mind must be open
And our hearts to be pure surrounded by his love
For no one else is greater than the man up above
Giving us life to roam the earth and think so free
To create new things everyday with the tools he provide
His angels are by our side we may not see
But the goodness and wisdom they cannot hide
As you look at every word probably questioning your faith
Within the noise or silence hear what the lord saith
He'll love you always for we are his children
When we come home he'll have arms wide open
And the same feeling in earth being surrounded by his love
Will be everlasting when we see our father up above

The Sun and Moon Purpose of Life

Sunlight calling wants to be somebody
Moonlight calling wants to be nobody
Sunlight calling surrounded by light
Moonlight calling surrounded by darkness
Sunlight calling has a will to fight
Moonlight calling feels weak and hopeless
Sunlight calling shines upon the world
Moonlight calling turns bitter and cold
Sunlight calling is a piece of mind
Moonlight calling is living in darkness and blind
Sunlight calling shows beauty in life
Moonlight calling shows no hope to survive
As one sinks below the other flies above
As one has nowhere to go the other surrounded by love
As one shuns everyone out the other lets everyone in
As one has so much doubt the other feels the power to win
As one is shattered apart the other has a strong heart
When you look in the mirror what do you see
Behind those eyes that define the real you
If it's light your just like me
And if it's dark find your light to pull through

A Poet's Passion

A way to be heard when nobody is around
A way to be seen when there's no sound
A way to feel free to express myself
A way to find rhythm with the help
Of the environment around beauty and life
The gift of poetry how I survive
My guardian angel for spirit and heart
And my savior when things fall apart
I find myself deep in a trance
Thinking of the words up in my head
Staring at the sky at first glance
Like I'm vividly dreaming in my bed
Every word written more likely to inspire
And all from the heart what I admire
Like an angel's love for the bright blue sky
Wings spreaded out ready to fly
Soar with the wind never to fall
When her passion gives strength to guide all
This is the way poetry flows through me
To enlighten the world and let them see
The passion that flows through the soul of me

To My Uncle

A man who you could call any day of the week and he'll be there in a flash
A believer in the heavenly father for his actions show he puts others first before his own
Pure love for his family and daughters who've grown to fine women in life
Loved his wife dearly and provided everything he could for he's so pure
Worked to the bone to provide for his family putting a roof over their head and food to eat
Easy to talk to and would give you clothes off his back to help another in need
His heart is and always will be pure like the blue skies above
He's my second father and in the mirror he's the splitting image of my own father
Not afraid to discipline when your acting out but it's all out of love
Teach you the error of your ways and guide you to make a better way
Wild in the days of his youth but as he grew he matured into a fine man
As an uncle, brother, father, cousin he's a man whose heart is pure as gold
He was an amazing deacon and did everything he could for the church till his last breath
For his love of the father was endless for all the amazing things he did in his life
And when you look into his children they're the splitting image of who he is
When you look at his wife she's the splitting image of his heart and purity
When you look at his family you see the splitting image of his love and dedication
For a man whose finally returned home and watching over from above
For a uncle who I'm proud who molded a family together through his actions and unyielding care
Uncle Sammy Curtis you always stay in our hearts and know you'll never be far from our minds

A Lover's Quest

She was my true love at first sight
Everything about her made it all seem so right
So pure from everyone else down to the core
And so much about her I appreciated and I adore
When it felt like magic every time we touch
Also the passion when we said I love you so much
My angel I longed for the nights I looked up above
Calling to our father begging for this meaning of love
To be as everlasting as it could never wanting to let go
This amazing feeling because I loved her so
Finding her was like the peace I needed at last
Felt like my lonely nights would finally die down fast
But I awake to it being merely just another dream
When I turn to see nobody was at the other bed side
It felt so real when I was asleep it would seem
A common feeling of sadness and despair is what I hide
But never giving up on the day I meet my guardian angel
More precious and amazing than the average stranger
For the vision predicts we were meant to be together
To hold you close and protect you through the weather
But I must venture out to find you through what I feel
Or it'll just be a memory in my head never to be real

The Good of An Angel

She's sinking further below with a wounded heart
Not broken to the max but is crumbling apart
Feeling as though her life is going from bad to worse
She doesn't feel like a blessing more like a curse
Just so focused on the bad instead of the good
Doubt creeps in her mind so abused and misunderstood
If she was to ask me what's the good I see in her
I look right into her eyes and tell her like no other
You saved me from myself when nobody was around
You're the happiness in my life that I'm glad I have found
Someone I can call on when in need of a friend
And the light of my world hoping this feeling will never end
We had our ups and downs but still we remain
Was it destined by faith for a bond like this to gain
For a friend like you to be caring and so true
I just can't thank you enough for all the things you do
When I sit here thinking only thing I truly desire
Is that this poem's message is enough to light the will of fire
Inside you and let it shine throughout the world to inspire
Because you bring out the best in me and that's what I admire
