One Missing Piece

The puzzle will never be complete 
He is looked at and pointed at 
by children who don't know
that he is incomplete

He didn't choose to be born this way
a piece of a puzzle that doesn't fit 

We stare and thank God that it's not us
It's not me
But do we ever feel any empathy?
If you could imagine not fitting in 
never really fully understanding anything 

Having to be watching 
always having someone taking care of you 
You would never have any independence 

Autism seemed to be his name
"He's autistic"
It wasn't his name 
there's more to him 

He is tortured and teased 
All because of one missing piece
