Paper Doll

Once upon a time There was a little paper doll She lived in a paper house Made of paper walls She had a paper mom She had a paper dad And a little paper basset hound All wrinkled up and sad This little paper doll Went to a paper school Full of paper students Who thought that they were cool They made fun of the paper doll For her paper clothes For the way she styled her paper hair And for her too-small paper nose Once upon a time She decided to end it all So she grabbed a paper rope And walked down the hall She got to her paper closet And pushed the clothes aside She grabbed a little paper pen And wrote a note goodbye She was gone for good Before she even spoke She was a little paper doll And all the strings inside her broke

always reaching for each other; never getting to touch your stretched hand

4:13 Pm

A lot can happen in a minute. A sudden epiphany, A revelation. Opening doors, A realization. Fresh starts, Beating hearts. Good luck, Tearing apart. A lot can happen in a minute.

Yes?

Just breathe.

In
Out
In
Out

Talk when you
Are ready

Put down the pills
Please

Throw away
The blade

Cut the rope
Into tiny pieces
If it makes you not afraid

Silence

Hello?

Beep
Beep
Beep

Call Ended.

Describe a Color Without Saying It

Blue

The color of the sky
When I met him

The color of the water
When he asked me to be his

The color of the snow
When he first kissed me

The color of his shirt
When we had our first fight

The color of my eyes
When I look in the broken mirror

The color in the air
When I find him

The color of his lips
When I know it's real

It's not my favorite color anymore

Famous Last Words

It's very beautiful over there My own life I cannot bear I cannot sleep, don't let me fall You're right, it's time, I love you all I am going away tonight This crushing weight I cannot fight My own sorrow was my own downfall Somehow, you said them all

Flower Child Meets Life

I was so happy A free spirit A flower child. Then, you took me captive Called me as your own And forced me to drink from the well of your people. You shoved the seeds down my throat And I had no choice but to swallow. I got addicted To this lonely place And now, can never return. I miss my family. My friends. My old life. But I cannot leave this place For I am bound by the bond That I did not agree to. You never want them to know The hunger of Persephone And how I starve for something Other than pomegranates
