Heartbreak Hotel

Welcome, to the Heartbreak Hotel
where there is always a vacancy here.
The cost you ask, oh there is no fee
for your stay is calculated only in tears.
Upon entering our wonderful establishment
you will find a revolving door.
Once again the time you stay is up to you
to stay a door or forever more.
While inside you will find a gift shop
filled with the finest of romance and sweet perfume.
Shelves stocked with false pretense, lust and seduction
just build your own display as you fill the room.
Cover the bed with rose petals and draw a bubble bath
strategically place candles to set the mood.
Fill her eyes with sparkle and soul with false hope
all the while knowing, your exit will be crude.
Music is playing and you are dancing about,
and she doesn't have a clue or care.
All she knows is her heart is glowing and smiling
as you plot out leaving...if you dare.
Soon the music stops, bubbles have disappeared
and the candles have lost their glow.
She sits on the bed, with head in hands
while watching you as you go.
No need to drop off a key as you pass by
to walk out the revolving door.
For you see, we remember names and faces
because one day your heart will one day hit the floor.
Your next visit is on the house, my friend
we will keep a vacancy here.
As the scene plays out same as before, you see,
I hope you are the one shedding a tear.

Welcome, to the Heartbreak Hotel
