Kala Charette Poem
her eyes are red and puffy
her wrists are raw and scarred
her mind is filled with scary thoughts
her happiness is very far
her cheeks are gaunt and hollow
her lips always turned down
her eyes are dead and empty
all she wants to do, is drown
she goes to school reluctantly
afraid to face the day
she wishes she could stay in bed
and hide from all the pain
she steps across the threshold
into her living hell
her eyes stay down, eyes on the ground
as she pretends, that all is well
then the taunts, they start
emo, freak
go kill yourself
okay, she thinks, I might as well
she continues to her locker
but the words, they never stop
they slowly rip her heart apart
and now, there's nothing left
she heads to class
as tears roll down her cheeks
her teachers ask whats wrong
just the same as every week
and just the same as always
she gives a broken smile
replies, again, just tired
and another lie adds to the pile
but it's okay, she thinks
soon this will be resolved
she has a plan, she writes a note,
and soon her pain, it will be gone
