Hear No Evil, See No Evil

Can you hear the thunderous roar
Of angry engines that in the sky soar?
The sirens crying in heavy alarm,
Signalling of the impending harm?

Can you smell the scent of iron?
It is the odor of mass destruction.
Blood splatters and mangled bodies,
Of stolen lives and broken families.

Can you hear the frightened cries,
Of women and children; people alike?
Drown your ears with their screams,
Close your eyes, see their broken dreams.

Can you see what war has done,
Do you know what you've become?
Evil lords of war in the people's eyes,
For there in your path is where death lies.

As you drop your bomb and shoot your gun,
Can you see what you have done?
For you seem unseeing of the scar,
Caused by you in the second world war.

Slumber

Heavy eyes and muffled sounds,
Unaware of what's around.
As darkness comes, silence prevails,
Close thy eyes to see what entails.

Could it be a world where there is peace?
Or a realm filled with your darkest fears?
Perhaps there will be joy and unending cheers,
Or we'll be welcomed by unending tears.

Delve into the dark abyss,
Swim unto the depths of unending bliss.
Pain and terror hath no permanent place,
For all is well in the valley of dreams.

So close your eyes and you shall see,
A realm better than reality.
But be wary, heed my warn,
Stay and you shall never see the sun.

Unmasked

Curved up lips and a glimmering smile,
Lopsided grin and shiny shimmering eyes.
The things you conceal, everything you hide,
Cannot be seen, nor be felt by untrained spies.

Salty tears and dreaded fears unknown,
Deep dark secrets and white lies you've told.
You cover all that you refuse to be shown,
Memories of what you do not wish to unfold.

Cries of agony those lips once probably spoke,
Those unwanted emotions you wish to revoke.
Droplets of tears your eyes once must have shed.,
Now you chose to hide the pain you want to end.

There is no need to hide, no need to conceal,
Such hideous emotions you do not wish to feel.
You can hide all you want, but you can never run,
Hear the words of one with the same mask in hand.

Deathbed

Drops of liquid trickling down,
A steady and soft rhythm rings.
Uneven take of sharp breaths,
As life is drained through one's veins.

The hardest battle is to be fought,
Yet it seems there is not a chance.
The will is down, the war is lost,
For living is not what the hero wants.

Listen to the unheard pleas,
Oh how his eyes seem to speak.
Of unheard agony, the walls are filled
As the last buzz reach its peak.

The hardest battle has been lost,
But not the warrior, he has won.
For after all the wounds he got,
At last, at night the peace has come.
