When I Was An Old Man

When I Was an Old Man,
Waiting to kick the can.
I looked back on my life with a frown,
just before I was cut down.

I thought only of decision not made,
As everything began to fade.
My life, passed by in an instant,
as I am now very distant.

In a few years I will be forgotten,
but in a few days I will be rotten.
I will live on as a statistic,
to serve the futuristic.

But nonetheless, my body will die here today,
as I slip into a slow decay.
My name will fade bit by bit,
as more love ones die and more enemies quit.

No History Book will record my daily constraints,
for I am but another nameless saint.
