Little Change

The day started with the teams made
but as one girl heard the news,
she just wanted to fade
fade like an old bruise

She knew her team wouldn’t
Let her be who she wanted
As they thought she couldn’t
Have any skills that she never flaunted

The games had started
But the girl was stuck at the start
The others hadn’t parted
For her to play smart

They were strict
But then there was quite a change
Not as focused on being perfect
The girl was let play, it was strange

But then she realized
They did it so the teacher
Wouldn’t noticed her cries
And see her as a caged creature

She tried to change things
And they kind of did
But all was lost as she sings
About the unfairness she almost undid

Disagreements

Falling
Our hometown is
We don’t know what to do
Or how to feel about this all
Unsure

Sickness
That’s what came next
Real sickness from battle
Everyone was sick of all
Tired

Loud noises
That’s all we heard
Constant crashes and cracks
Dying eardrums, unhearable
Fighting

Painful
People are hurt
Nobody left unchanged
The hurt of this has changed all lives
Eternal

Her

I see her walking down the hall
With her perfect hair and face
She's got everyone under her spell, it makes me bawl
As I will never be in her place
Or have all of her grace
My feelings have become a blur
Of how I'll never be her
I try to change it
Try to find the cure
But now I just need to quit

The Truth Is

The Truth Is

When you come to know the truth
It's ends up hitting hard
Whether good or bad
It changes you

The truth is,
The truth can change anything, everything
It can change how you feel
How you see the world
How you experience the world
How you live your life in general
But a lie can change even more
And that hits harder than anything

Lies change things too
The change is typically more negative though
Like I said, anything and everything will change
Because of anything and everything that happens

The truth is,
You have no control over what will happen
But you have control over how it changes you
So you might as well have it change you for the better
Even if it is a lie
Because anything and everything can be changed
No matter how bad it starts off
And that's just the truth

Bringing Power and Change

Bringing Power and Change

Some things have always been scary
Like spiders, snakes, heck, even raspberries
But other things are scary too
Like the things that push me down, until I break
That have so much force they cause my wake
As I sit here and ponder all of these things
I wonder what they all can bring

Society has made me build up my walls
Then it breaks them down without a problem
So much force that could be beautiful
But no good is done to make things better
To make things different
To make things into somethings
I wonder what that could bring

People become royalty in their own school
While the other kids are left in a pool
A pool of nothing, invisibility
While the royalty is found, swimming in glamour
They have so much power and force
But they do nothing to sway the pool
To change what the pool could do
To change something
And see what it could bring

Alas, these people bring nothing
Except for some
Some of these people get it
But others stay numb
Numb with their power
That they could use to bring
So much more
Than just nothing

Old Memories

Old memories

I remember when I was young.
I lived in a very different place
and thought very different thoughts
There was no stress
And everything was simple

Once I saw my sister in a tree
And I had no idea how she got up there
I ended up thinking that she did it by
Jumping from the window that was so far away
Crazy how my mind was so free
As free as a feather floating through the sky

I remember the "cottony" trees, as I called them
They let their cotton fly free every year
And I'd wish upon all the ones I managed to catch
I'd wish upon many things
And hoped that I'd fulfill my dreams

And I even still dream today
And wish and believe
I even let my mind be free
Especially when I grab my pen
And starting writing all the thoughts that come to me.

Set But Still Roaming

I know where I want to go,
But where is it in comparison to where I already am?
I know what I want to achieve,
But how far do I still have to go to get there?

Am I too far off to get there?
Or am I two steps away?

I know who I truly am,
But will that ever change?
I know what really defines me,
But will others never realize?

Am I going to change?
Or will I always stay the same?

I know that people don’t always treat me right,
But how am I supposed to change that?
I know that it’s hard to make it in the big world,
But I will make it.
I know that I will.
