A Child Is....
The pitter-patter of unsteady feet that fills one with dread yet with blissful hope all at once.
You are the Olaf in my Frozen.
The bursting ray of innocence lighting up the gloom of maturity.
You are the Pride-rock in my Lion King
The reminder of all the joys therein in the life you term 'tired'.
You are the krustykrab in my Spongebob.
The charm and excitement that makes one feel finicky and flowery.
You are the honey in my Winnie the Pooh.
A child needs a parent who can feed him/her with unconditional love.
? You are the dumplings in my Kung-fu Panda.
A child will always remind one about the powerful hormones that built the foundation for one's connection with him/her.
You drowned my frowns with but one kiss.
A child is a child that is a child... All that we were and all that we should never forget.
You are my 'I love you'.

This Thing of Joy
(Pregnancy Journey: Month 1)
This thing of joy is sweet news,
but my lips have nausea spelled
on them
Sweet news yet I am unable
to work much or walk for long
Yet the colours of life remain in
my perk
Purple headbands to match
my blooming face
And a pink shawl to keep me warm
in this place
My Habibi, a sweet gift did bring
a golden locket, to wear and sing
Of the love we share, and the life we'll bring
into this world, our hearts will ring
Though I am exhausted and feeling low
I know this journey will be worth the woe
For soon I'll hold my little one
and all the pain will be undone
I'll rest and take it slow
and test the colours of life
Let it stay on, flowing through me,
and into my precious seed
Bringing with it, joy, love,
and all that we need.
