Alone

Alone 
All alone 
I am alone 
 
Silence 
The deafening sound of silence  
It threatens to enrage  

Yet silence has induced a strange affliction 
Depression, angst, sadness, fear 
The presence of which are not felt 
Rather, a sense of relief, dare I say peace  
Permeates the recesses of my being 
 
I am not lonely 
I am merely alone
