A New Day

He had a dream, it was meant for all,
This dream was mostly for us to stand tall.

In the year of our Lord Jesus Christ 2008,
Began a new season, one of debate.

Our lives in the balance, our economy trashed,
There came a bright light, a light that would last.

This light was from heaven, it was not man made,
Lord Jesus was glowing and asked us to sit in the shade.

He went to work saving our souls first with our faith,
Then our earth, He toiled endlessly with vigor and grace.

When all was said and done, this dream he had dreamt,
Was one that will last, and not leave us unkempt.

Time stood still, on the earth we just wondered and guessed,
The world as we knew it was different, yet blessed.

All the time he was smiling and toiling away,
He shed tears of joy, being shed for us all, and for our new day.

A True Friendship

A true friendship is a rare gem indeed.
One is just as hard to find when in dire need.

This is when one learns who is an acquaintance,
Shown by a small yet significant difference.

Once the subtleties have been distinguished,
And those fly by night friendships extinguished.

Hopefully the true friends are the ones you keep.
As the saying goes, "What you sow is what you reap.”

True friends lift you to the highest heights,
They make your heart sing with angelic delight.

So many people have those gems locked in their heart.
Remind them often you love them and never to part.

Peace Within

As I woke on Xmas morn, all was quite still,
my breath on the window, crystallized in the chill.

With the Soldiers so far away, many did feel,
the distance had made the war seem surreal.

The war they are fighting, I fear may have no end,
the fanatics that feed it, do not understand.

The Human race is meant to be free,
to make choices and have dreams, for others to see.

Their warped sense of values is not in the Qu ran,
Muhammad's (PBUH) teachings are not kill, then run.

He had many wives whom he honored quite freely,
the love he felt for them all was as Thaira (pure), as a lily.

The fight he tried to teach, this war of Jihad,
is the fight of the good, versus the bad.

Is, meant to be fought inside of each man.
Within his head, not in a desert, in a far off land.

My prayer for this Christmas for all to join hands,
No matter the religion, no matter the clans.

May the peace we all want be within our grasp,
may this fight on terror, and within be won at last.

Thank You God, Yahweh, Buddha, Allah, I say this with reverence,
Call Him Jesus or Krishna, whatever your preference.

Amen

Purpose

Sunlit days and moonlit nights,
These are some of God's delights.

Time for hope and time for fear,
Remember to hold loved ones near.

For us a lifetime, for God a sec,
In the grand scheme, we are but a spec.

They give us food for thought and food for soul,
Just a fraction of us reach the final goal.

To sit with God and bask in His light,
This should be our end, goodness never spite.

My Best Friend

God is my Best Friend, and I want to make him proud of me for others sake.
I try to be a good person, which is to give and not to take.

To assist other people, that may need help in some special way,
Look for the good path, not the easy path, then follow it and do not stray.

I Love you my Lord God, I will keep my faith, heart, soul and eyes on you,
To follow the straight path, unwaveringly, all day through.

So many decisions to make, yet only one rings true and loud.
Is the one that makes my Best Friend Proud.

My Time, His Place

With what seems like lightening speed, time flies by,
The world as you knew it is gone, in a flash, in a sigh.

And all you really catch are glimpses of life here and there,
Sometimes the picture is pure delight, others deep despair.

Yet if you slow down and let God have the reins,
Relax and lay back, learn to read His simple signs.

His picture comes into frame, with His help we can see,
Where our future and place in His ministries is to be.

On this Earth with all of His creatures we can act the fool,
This place where human likes to think they can control and rule.

God will lay down His law, with His power, with His utter grace.
To survive, watch for Him to tell us where we belong in His place.

If it is to be a guardian of His garden, His Eden this place called Earth,
We must learn to Love each other, as He has Loved each of us since before our birth.

Passing Through

Today is the first day of your life,
No more sorrow, no more strife.

The way is clear; you are lifted high on wings,
With Christ in sight, His Kingdom sings.

Your soul is filled with angelic delight,
Never have you known such a beautiful light.

Loved ones that have passed on are waiting for you,
Up in the endless, weightless clouds and gentle blue.

People Fade

As people fade from my life I think of how they may be.
And of those whom I ponder have they ever thought of me.

Things used to be so simple when I was a youth.
With the simplicity of innocence and social uncouth.

Even as I ponder such things and watch as gold turns to dust.
Life can be so full of impulses yet growing up is a must.

If we all need to grow up then we must need to be mature.
For so many details are lost as I watch the memories begin to blur.
