A Walk

Star lights fill the street
Roses petal raindrops kiss me
Dancing in the wind

Blissful Abyss

Gripping self doubt,

clinging the edge of the cliff.

Allow yourself to fall.

Art

While awaiting a date with the goddess of eternal slumber.
I shall steep my soul in all the colours of art.
Casting a rainbow upon the earth.

Letters To My Family At Sea

I am not you, never deprived the nutrition of my heritage.

I am not you, never whipped into submission.

I am not you, never married to a nation that rapes my hope.

I am not you, never killed for sport and fear.

Your origin merely lies in the complexion of your pigment.

Branded with the name of ownership, King, Baldwin, Parks.

I am not you, yet mirriors only reflect your appearance.

I am you.

You are my brothers and sisters created from my own rib.

My Post Card To You

Hands interwined,
doomed the moment we navigated the room.
Intimacy our first impression.
Our whispered laughter,
still replayed on the vinyl of my heart.
Constantly skipping a beat.

Cupids antics yet again traps me in a pit of despair.
I failed to read the terms and conditions,
distance is the illness that plagues us both.
A glance and a roll of the eyes,
my heart beings to drown in it's own longing.
Annoyance the only excuse to be around you.

Your presence shelted by your insecurities,
your voice mute,
hand connected to foreman.
You retreat to the fortress called "comfort zone".

I lay seige to this castle.
I demand freedom,
the maiden is caged in the darkest of her mind.

Yet the protanganist was never I but you.
A glimmer of a smile,
you vanquish the demons lurking in my thoughts.

Now I capture every butterfly accompanied
by the utterance of your name.
In hope like you,
they'll save me once again.
