Exit From Rock Bottom

I am coming from a dark,dark place
  Which started from innocent ways.
I  just could not grasp what "Rock Bottom" really meant,
  Until I was so deep into it.

The only way out of drowning in sorrow,
  Was to ask my higher power
To help me dig my my way out,
  And to let go of my own self-doubt.

I had to relieve myself of guilt and shame,
  And ask to bypass all the blame.
Please God  help me exit from "Rock Bottom", that is the only way,
  To look forward to a brighter, sunnier day.
