Boskov Ledavec Poem
If you saw me today
by the old Oak lazing
in the sun, with my hair
tangled from the stiff breeze,
with eyes solemn and dark,
And if I saw you too,
with a crooked smile
hanging long across my
face, with my head cocked
against the empty sky,
And standing there we saw
each other, with my thoughts
blank and yours racing,
with my heart still and yours
ever pounding,
With a gnarled rope around
my bruised neck, swaying
Would you leave me hanged,
or cut me down and mourn?
