Double Deviance

The sullen face that seeks not to be approved or answerable.

An eternal question mark, fragile emotion, to nurture, be fair,
These things are expected yet there is no pretence to care,
a role, an act, a cross to bear.

She took the hand of a child with gentle grace
coupled with evil etched upon a feminine face.

The icy vicious plans of each criminal man..
became far worse in female hands.

no judge, jury and reporter to vilify -
sufficiently to fit the public outcry.

Presumption is all that we have now,
to label, shun and still question 'How?'
To hide and distrust what we see,
for evil women only exist on tv!

Just a hardened deliberation
before eternal damnation
when this person of the 'fairer' sex will be..
deemed too 'male' for society.

Christmas

"Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse"
You must be joking! but...
I LOVE christmas in our house!

the noise and the chaos and the worn out tree
the family members that drank too much sherry!

A christmas tradition to raise a glass with our neighbours come midday
lots of festive music and the present opening delay.

my mum and my brother in the kitchen having the usual debate: " how long will that turkey take!?!!"
My little niece impatient for the christmas cake!

My mum writing notes on who bought what..
so not a single 'thank you' would be forgot!

A last minute panic that the favorite christmas movie was missed
and that one special person under the misteltoe not kissed.

a Pictionary game that got a little heated
because neither team could be defeated!

The christmas party, sparkly dress and cinnamon laced booze,
that one christmas present that you'll just never use!

The party hat that falls over your eyes
the christmas crackers silly surprise.

...and when I am overwhelmed by christmas cheer and my brothers have just poured another beer,
The car is icy and the snow I am sick of stomping,
I take some time-out, wine in hand and carry on comping!

Invisible Man

The invisible man going to waste.
They said not to rush so instead I tried haste.

Out every week
a regular
a familiar face
drinking at everyone else's pace.

I count the seconds to return
a few free lessons and a lot of drinks to learn!

Faces wobble and I search the crowd
busy and frustrated, the invisible man laughing out loud.

making promises to myself I'd love to keep..
getting let down and loosing sleep.

Ice Queen

the bars on this cell rattle and rage
yet there is safety in this cage.

my heart exposed too frequently
given undeservedly.

Roaring, fighting for resilience yet to be discovered,
feeling raw, naked, uncovered.

The rock is hard like ice in mind,
detached from intentions unkind,
cocooned, too hard to find.
half hidden and no one to mind.

Haunted by spectres that taunt with a strangers future-
a life with love and you and I feature,
dreams tied on fragile thread, unravel in the slightest shower.

I am lost, half a person,
no other half of me
where the buck stops alone.

My emotions threatened to shake these walls,
instead of content I do not want to fall,
splintered and fractured, how can I be free?
terrified to let you see just 'me'.

To leave my heart to your trust
or leave it locked away to rust.
Less than madness when todays kisses turn to-
tomorrows dust.

Forget-You-Not

I haven't the scope anymore to fight for what I lost,
the noose around my neck is tight but its worth the cost.

My actions are a little forced,
though I could hold out longer,
success is par for the course now my will is stronger,

Not a minute longer on your side..or by it
I''ll snap back into shape again, take more than I'll give,
sometime I'll forget-you-not, move on...
but never ever

forgive.

Faking a Feeling

The bitter twist of the knife,
to bleed not for sympathy.

Releases the blood without empathy,
my thoughts will not subside, scour the edge of my fears.

Pierced, poised to keep hidden that lullaby,
I sleep where my soul, dreamless, dies.

Nothing but scars to shatter long-time broken dreams
In smithereens,
sinking in your absence, the catalyst without pain

So stab me now and make me feel again.

Nameless Child

In a darkened corner unseen,
each sign ignored,
His protectors do not protect for they are too flawed.

The burns on his skin would shock if known,
the curse of a family in which love is not shown.

He does not speak up, does not know it is not right,
taught to take the hit and never to fight.

His classmates think he is odd, a little weird,
They have no awareness to conceive all that he has feared.

His teachers - they do not ask,
no one takes the perpetrators to task.

They have a duty to protect, to listen, to do
before it ends in statistics for another case review.

Withdrawn and quiet, they only care he should behave.
So when will this nameless child be seen?
only when in the grave?

Time Machine

when time will bend at the will of my command
I will be there then holding your hand

I glance through the window of times frame,
only seeing what stays the same.

when time turns on its head,
no more agonising over the things you's said.

Free to be yours just for forever,
a time-machine and romantic endeavour.

no demands to infiltrate a moment we share,
lost in time with you and I would not care.

so smash the schedule!
let you heart skip a beat
bend time til 'I love you'
and the world drops at our feet.

Photogenic

I trace the lines across your face,
full of deception and out of place,
the camera never lies.

You searched for a new feeling to explore,
Just another game,
I showed myself the door (you could not open)
assuredly no gentleman, nor any lies left unspoken

She goes by my name now
such a smooth transition
I just hope for your sake darling...

She will be forgiving in my position.

Killing Time

Suspense kills
I would kill again
grasping at fate, where it lies
on my conscience.

What's left of this you have a taste for now,
pulling together,
moving on to what you left behind,

Stripping time

I time travel until I belong in my skin,
no longer in limbo watching the clock,
your lies wasting away the hours...

a thankless task to cling to time,
always waiting for what I cannot decline.
