Laughter

Forgive me for my seriousness
But I possess some humor, too;
Though my preference is that mood
Which I laugh last ‘til I’m blue.

I am no slapstick comedian
Like goofballs dance for a minute;
I’d rather make you laugh at your pain
So you won’t be so stupid.

Laughter’s a blessing, not a toy;
Cheap jokes and gossip are robbed of joy;
So fatten your wits ‘fore our chat starts,
In the end’s all fun and good for your heart.

A Non-Voter Asks

Educated derelicts,
Professor of fools,
Scholars of crap,
Leaders that moo;

What is then intellect,
If honor is your weight in gold?
Such mineral torch can test,
Molten like poo.

A Mission

A poem a day keeps my sanity at bay,
So will I write ‘till the end of my days;
For other souls too with troubles in life,
“Hope’s abound in the world of dismay!”

Like an alchemists dream to turn things to gold,
So will I with pen and journal grasped;
With the best of my words must men understand,
Wisdom are treasures divinely grand.

From a Brother

To the boys and young men whose eyes may meet my words,
You have my best wishes to your future endeavors;
However, I must share some light for reflection
For in due time, most of you will be lovers and fathers.

First, to the passionate boys, seekers of immortality,
This world can be cold, heartless and full of depravity;
Vigor is not your shield nor sign of the wise,
Strength marks only an instance, illusion began with time.

Recklessness is no absolute philosophy,
I was once its disciple, lucky I regained my sanity;
In youth, build your character, polish your virtues,
Be the best among dreamers, true love shall follow.

To the young married men who have a household to care,
May your homes be founded in love and not fear;
Remember you’re not gods, take life inch by inch,
When the sun comes down, be at rest with your kin.

In a loving home you’ll find genuine inspiration,
To battle the day even beyond exhaustion;
And if blessings come, praise the Almighty One,
In times of trials, pray for wisdom.

Though this advice may come from a sinner’s heart,
But deep down we’re all divine, whoever we are;
I have learned my lessons so it’s best to share,
For a man’s strength comes from his will to care.

Sacred Place

In times of solitude and silence
Must we not find it empty;
For it is in this sanctuary
We hear the breath and heartbeat.

Feel the air and blood in the flesh,
Aren’t we God’s masterpiece?
When worldly roars chase us with madness,
Remember this sacred place.

A Christmas Message

Carols, gift-giving and get-togethers
Fills the season a hopeful air;
As people show their better selves
Sharing happiness to fellow men.

The tree lights and sparkling decors
Illuminates this dimming planet;
But none brings more joy and enlightenment
Than the blessings of child Jesus.

Though this season brings its traditions,
Live by heart the timeless story:
The Prince of Peace, Son of God,
Born in a dark and quiet manger.

Creativity

Poems don’t flow freely as 1, 2, 3,
Inspiration ain’t always sweet as candy;
Creativity is the balancing act between heart and mind,
It’s the gripping stunt to strip the soul under the spotlight.

Often misunderstood as child’s play,
But the arts has brought more peace than guns, tanks and planes;
Jesus walked on water, Moses split the sea,
Even God opts for creativity!
