The Jester

The Jester puts on her smile,
Plastered to her make-up smeared face.
Bright lights blind her empty eyes.
She can see no one in the crowd.

Inside her mind,
She screams for release.
Twisting the head off her doll,
Blood runs down her cheeks.

Her hands gripped tightly around the neck of the doll,
She pulls as hard as she can.
No one’s around for miles;
They left her to die.

Smiles and laughs surround her,
Taunting her every move.
They tease and mock her,
Pointing out flaws.

How her hair sticks out;
How her tooth has a chip in it.
Her eyes go dark as she wishes them death.
Under her breath she curses.
They will never lead happy lives.
They will know what it’s like being a puppet.

Just a toy in a closet,
Thrown around like nothing.
She wants to rip them all apart,
Limb by limb till there’s nothing left.

In her mind she makes up stories.
Stories where she’s no longer the jester,
No longer do they laugh at her.

With bloodshot eyes,
She cranes her neck to the sky.
Her screams echo through the stadium,
Reverberating off the walls,
Bouncing back to her ears,
Killing everything in its path.

She falls to the ground in a puff of dirt.
When it clears,
The Jester is nowhere to be found.

House Called Hell

Here in this house,
There never is any silence,
Only hate.
You hate,
You yell,
You scream,
You never listen,
Never stop.

Do you ever think about how much it hurts when you never stop?
I didn't think so.
So much lies and deciet.
Why?
This isn't right,
This shouldn't be how to live.

But the sad truth is...
This is how it always has been.
No changes,
There never is any difference.
You say you'll change,
You say you'll try harder,
But you never do.

It's always the same damn thing,
Always the same...
Change it please.
No one can really live like this,
Chained in a house call hell.

Let me be free,
Free from you,
From everything...
Freedom is the only escape...

Spare Me Three Last Words

She wanders through the rubble,
Tears streaming down her twisted face.
Red eyes mixed with black eyeliner.
Her pupils shine green among the dancing flames.

Branches snag her tattered clothes,
Causing her to fall.
On hands and knees,
She has no will to stand.

Chains and locks on her wrists and ankles,
Not letting her move.
Too weak…
She’s losing the fight.

Days of crying and sobbing,
Such pain.
Screaming on the inside,
But her voice won’t work…

Thunderstorm Love

As she talks to him on the phone,
Her eyes swell up with tears,
But she’s smiling.
She gasps.

You can tell by her eyes that she’s happy.
He’s not leaving again.
The smile never leaves her face as she talks to him for hours.
He makes her so happy to be alive,
He makes it all worthwhile.

And she knows that he’d do anything for her,
She would do the same for him.
Some say that it’s too good to be true,
That love is just a waste.
They lie.
Love is the best feeling in the world.
The one good addiction one has to another.
And they’ll run away together,
Just to watch the sunsets.

He’ll look into her eyes and see only himself.
He’s her whole world,
She could never let him go.

Her eyes gently close as she remembers
His sweet, sweet kisses.
The smile on her face is one of true happiness.
Nothing could ever replace the feeling she gets when she looks at him.
The shock is like lightning to her heart.

Just the thought of him loving her makes her heart melt.
She’s flying high on cloud 9.
No one could ever replace him.

His hugs the thunder,
His kisses the lightning.
And his eyes…
The rain on a sunny day…

Snow

There’s snow on the ground outside.
The wind is blowing, so cold.
So beautiful but deadly.

In the dark, things lurk and watch.
In the day they hide,
Asleep but not…

The sun shines on the white ground
As it blinds passerby’s.
Couples huddle along admiring the snow
While dark things hide in the shadows,
Silently laughing at the innocent victims.

At night they come out, staring through the windows
Wishing they could be inside.
The cold outside is too much for humans to bear.
They run inside, unaware of the beasts and animals that wait outside the door.

The winter is a time for dead things.
When trees are asleep and the flowers are hiding.
When false spring creeps up,
It makes the flowers die.

People are stuck in their houses because of too much snow or ice.
Frozen in the ground are things we came to love in summer.
Underneath the snow, there is still grass.
Later when this is over,
It will be exposed and uncovered.

Less freedom, more snow.
If you stay outside too long,
You could freeze and no longer be living.
So deadly, but we still love it.

Why do we sit in front of a fire and then go out to where it’s cold and dead?
Would we rather sit in the snow?
Snow…
Such a strange thing…

Love Effect

How do you have that effect on me?
I mean, you calm me down in an instant.
Baby you just amaze me.

When we first met,
I didn’t know what to think of you.
And when you asked me out,
That made me so happy.

I know I tell you this practically every day,
But this is the happiest I’ve ever been.
I mean, you don’t judge me, and you stick up for me.
You treat me so well.

I don’t need fancy things to let me know you love me.
I can tell by how you act that you really care.
And I hope that my actions say the same.

I’d be lost without you in my life,
Thank you for saving me.
You are my world,
My life,
My everything.

And I know that you love me just as much as I love you.
I will never break up with you.
That would shatter my soul.

When I think of you,
My mind goes blank of everything.
I forget where I am sometimes,
Or what I’m doing.
You erase my mind and leave me with this feeling,
This wonderful feeling of belonging.

I know that where I belong
Is in your arms.
And you in mine.
You’ll always be in my heart, soul, and
Forever on my mind.

You said that you’d never even think
Of leaving me and I believe you.
So thank you so, so much for saving me.
I don’t know how I would have survived
Without you.
You’re my drug,
And oh man, am I addicted!
You’re like a rainbow,
A promise kept of a new, better day.
That’s what you are.

I could go on and on about you forever
And never get tired of it.
My koala bear…
I love you to death and ever after…

Flashing Lights

Flashing lights,
Images in her head.
Red, everywhere,
Bathed in the shine of the moon.

She lies, sobbing on the floor of the wood.
His body under hers,
Her cries echo loudly around her.

Only feet away is knife,
She looks at it with distain,
Tears falling freely.

She starts to shake and hangs her head.
Defeated, she falls to the ground.
Her mouth opens as if to talk,
But the only sound is that blood-chilling scream.

A sudden pain in her back makes her eyes go wide with fear.
“You did this and now you will pay.”
The last words she ever heard…

One more sob,
One last scream
And then sudden laughter.
Shivering, cold laughter.

A shadow crosses their stone-cold faces
And fades away with only one sound,
That chilling laugh…

Saved

Red nails claw at a distorted face.
Screams echo through the abandoned building.
Faint laughter can be heard,
Coldly bouncing off the walls of stone.

Eyes filled with such fear, pain, and agony,
This is the face of a teenage girl.
This is what happens when people ignore.

No one ever cared enough to do something.
Though they all saw the signs.
How her friends’ hands would just “slip”
And make her face burn.

Too many times did the truth hurt.
Too many times did she lie awake at night,
Thinking about how much she longed for freedom.
Too many tears ran coldly down her cheek
As she angrily brushed them away.

People stared. They laughed.
They killed.
Their looks like daggers into her skin.
Their actions like blood seeping out of her body.

No matter how hard she tried,
She couldn’t escape.
The thoughts were always there,
That laughter never ceasing.

Blood pumping fast through her veins,
She stood out on the ledge.
Her black dress billowing in the wind,
She decided to let it all go.

Two hands grabbed her waist
Just as she stepped off the building.
They pulled her into a hug and turned her body around.

She couldn’t look him in the eye,
She couldn’t speak.
He sat down on the ground and held her close.
She could tell he’d been crying by his rough breathing.

They stayed there all night until she woke up,
Looking into the sun.
She woke him up and then hugged him.
She squeezed him and cried.
Through all the tears she managed to say,
“I’m so sorry.”

He kissed her forehead.
“I love you,” he said in reply. “Never leave me.”
They held each other close for a long time…

Powers and Sister

My powers have grown.
I’m getting stronger,
But others have come into the picture
Who threaten my sister’s lives.

I won’t let him take her to be his.
He does not deserve her.
She’ll never love him,
No matter what.
He’s the enemy as he always will be.

We are together in this,
Together till the end.
No one can separate our hearts.
Soul-bonds are hard to break.

I hope he knows that.
He’ll never get to her in the way he wants.
He won’t get passed us…
He never will…
