Now

My mind wants to travel
Travel through time
Ignoring the present
My biggest crime

Memories that haunt
Glories of the past
Mind wants to guard ‘em
Till the moment it lasts

Allured by dreams
Sucked into time
The stories that I tell
Some of which aren’t even mine

Hopes and desires
Feel like fear and greed
A struggle against time
NOW is where I am freed

Now is where I was
Now is where I will always be.

Cry Dark Cloud

Dense dark cloud
A shadow you cast
When never allowed
How can you last
In your way
Nothing you spared
Come to me
I am not scared

In rage you come
Marching with thunder
Out with no cover
A night of no surrender
Lightning all around
Rumbling in my heart
I am standing my ground
This is just the start

Your fury unfolds
A face off I choose
Summoning strength untold
It’s the night, you lose
Tempest in my mind
Out comes the light
Piercing through my wound
Shattering your might

Broken into pieces
Are my fears
Pouring Rain
Those are your tears
Cry dark cloud
As you glance
Under the rainbow
At my victory dance

Sands of Time

Sands of time, slipping through my fingers
Your sweet memories, I let those linger
I try to rhyme your heartbeats to mine
In this perfect morning and sweet sunshine

But waves are hitting hard and strong
Forcing me to hold back my song
Those glistening boats give me hope
This troubled sea, I know we can cope

The gentle breeze across my face
Reminds me of your special ways
I look around and see golden sand
I wish we were walking hand in hand

It's only a matter of time I know
Together we'd need no sun to glow
Reach out to me and make me whole
To you I have opened my heart and soul.

A Ride

It is a ride
Up and down
Across the space
That prompts us to measure
And to seek the treasure

It is a ride
Fast and slow
In a stream of time
That pushes us to run
And to pack all the fun

It is a ride
In and out
Of countless emotions
That make us want to live
And to the desires we give

It is a ride
Through dark and light
In a maze we call life
Searching through the history
In a chase to solve the mystery

It is a ride
Start to finish
That comes to a point
When we are ready to ascend
And we call it the end.

A Heart's Journey

A heart’s journey
Into the world of minds
With endless chatter
And careless whines

Prejudices and principles
Counterfeits of beliefs
Drowned in confusion
Lucid and trepid

To prick and prod
Judge every and all
Resolute, Sincere
Or mired in fear?

A virtual universe
Of impressions and reflections
With tradition or fashion
Still seeking salvation

A heart speaks
Through the shadows of doubt
Tender, tolerant and kind
Seeks affinity in the crowd.

What Would It Take

Oh my heart what would it take
to keep you in a happy state?
Would it take a rainbow or perfectly aligned stars
The rivers that flow with bounty or
the mountains that stand afar
Would it take a thousand flowers to bloom
to pull you out of the gloom
And fill you up with the colors of life
so you could forget the strife

Then, in the whispers of the wind
And the sweet murmurs of the trees at night
I slowly hear my heart speak
and it says what I knew it might

Don’t wait for the world to adorn your soul
With things you find in a mart
Or hope for that someone to come
To fix your ailing heart
You crave for things so your heart can rejoice
But my dear, feeling good is only a choice

Fill your heart with happiness
Because it’s just a state of mind
Take your mind off of the bad
Leave all the worries behind
Focus on the good
Take your attention, back to where it could
And when you know your heart is truly happy
You will find the things that you should.

I Walked a Few Miles

I walked a few miles, only to stop
stop to look -
look back to see where I started
Started with what I had
What I had were borrowed dreams

I walked a few miles, only to stop
stop to talk -
talk back to my old self
Old self who is obsessed with reality
Reality that is artificial and overrated

I walked a few miles, only to stop
stop to hear -
hear what the old is telling me
telling me to let go
let go of regrets
regrets that are useless

I walked a few miles, only to stop
stop to feel -
feel the river of time
river of time that moves life
life that rushes, gushes and foams
foams as it flows into the ocean of eternity

Don't stop then, keep moving
Keep moving, led by passion
Passion that fills the mind, heart and the moments
Moments that are but illusions
Illusions that make life worth living.

Fire

Kindred, in your heart, is a flame
Burning in your core, not yet tame
Out is the demon, in you the God
Fanning the flame, in a sordid clod

Words and thoughts fail to claim
All the glory you lost, what's left is a name
Burn in your own fire, if you will
Have ink in a quill but no tear to spill.

Then they came, the souls of saints
Pouring love, until you faint
Mind on desire, like water on fire
Back to a spark, out of the pyre.

We Survive

I feel your heart
it hurts like mine
Led astray by fear
Driven to commit crime
Locked in time, in pain we cry
Sickness of minds, in that we die

Searching for your soul
in the written words
Moving with hatred
Towards your goal
The ink has dried
but the blood still flows
Out on the roads
of friends and foes

The place in your mind
you call paradise
Chimes of empty greed
And is built on countless cries
I pray for you
that heaven you find
Not in the skies
deep within it resides

Drop the hate
Let's change the fate
In love, I hold you
In love, we survive.

The Book

The book that I read
is blank indeed.
For the words I see
is mist from the sea.

The pictures that stare
just fate in the air.
Of people and places
only shadows and traces.

Pages upon pages
skimming through ages
Your message sublime
found etched in time.
