Empty Bowls

With a thin and outstretched arm,
eyes agape with none it stares,
drained of all but a beating heart,
she hopes a farthing unsure to come,

Her hands are empty, her tummy complains,
worries soon washed aside when it rains,
she rushes under the bridge she calls home,
but slaps and shouts send her back out,

Drenched and delirious, she's hoping again,
against the great odds of a heavy rain,
fate kind this once, she gets her some bread,
and thereafter deemed to have earned her bed,

But time and sleep cannot quench hunger,
and she wakes and roams till it is supper,
empty bowls and harsh reality once more greet her,
she goes back to sleep and dream of dinner.

A Case For Queer

Why must it make you leer,
the one I now hold dear,
whether it is man or maid,
or if we wed before being laid,

And save all your cheap talk,
of birth, beasts or bigamy,
such need not be for us,
did hippies birth the gypsies,

Through time man learns anew,
that's how compassion grew,
as we soon learned to bear,
each one their faith or fear,

What have we turned aside,
to see no chaos wrought
the pope or the king's pride,
look what our skills have brought,

As we march on in the fight,
to spread the rainbow's light,
please try grow some tenderness,
don't make our love feel less.

Greenlands

As still as if there is no air,
With strong heat that's too much to bear,
No withered shrubs to rustle by,
No birds would ever dare fly by,

The earth crise much but sheds no tear,
For it's left empty year by year,
Despite great oceans that are near,
It's pleas for rain they do not hear,

These lands where once fertile and green,
With lots of flora to be seen,
Nourished by waters from great lakes,
It served man and beast for their sales,

Twas oversuse that was its bane,
Soon dunes filled where waters had lain,
No more gold fields to yeild their grain,
With no men left it went insane,

Maybe these lands shall never rise,
What's dead is dead, so say the wise,
And though the sun smiles on its hide,
I mourn the plains where green lands died.

Flowers

Blooming in the open fields,
pretties fertile mother earth yields,
swaying with a gentle breeze,
a symphony on which my heart feeds,

A tender, loving view for all,
sweet scents you purchase at the mall,
fed with the fullness of the skies,
that drift up high before our eyes,

They feast on the light from up above,
and drink from waters swirling deep below,
Their lushness breathes life to earthy greenery,
Flowers are for you and me.

A Poem For Bisi

Unto what shall I liken your voice,
Something far above noise,
What can I say on your poise,
A thing so beautiful I become shy,
I'll never complain, I can never cry,
For a voice so sweet, it makes me die,

Bisi, oh Bisi ! Be patient and abide,
And for a moment swallow your pride,
If wishes were horses so beggars do ride,
Then forevermore I would wish you my guide,
In eternal paths where the ancients hide,
I'll be by you always by your side.

A Nightly Massacre

The night is reeking with despair,
No moon, or stars at which to stare,
Shadows roam about unseen,
Pale imprints of souls once living,
Everywhere there's a deathly still,
Hungry horrors await their kill,
The town nearby is thick with dread,
For these threats are immune to lead,

Soon screams and cries come all about,
As lives are silently being snuffed out,
Man, woman, child or pet,
None escape the Grim reaper's net,
No blood's been spilled on the ground,
But putrid corpses are all around,
By midnight, moonlight shines once more,
Crickets chirp out by the moor,

Quite whispers of that night spread,
The town was cursed everyone said,
A century past saw a treaty,
That granted an unlikely victory,
Now Old Nick has gotten his due,
A pity no one had a clue,
For no man ever stepped in there,
The smell of death reeks in that lair.

On Artic Travels

What's it like travelling in cold,
you think you know but do you know,
the white lands set before your eyes,
sweet summer sun shines up in sky,
I'm Mr Roald trying strong winds,

Burning my face I never knew,
in winters' sane you would not know,
this part of cold the part that burns,
the part that scorns but yet spurs me,
I'm Mr Ready I bred me for this,

I'm searching strange lands,
men little but know,
lands where the rainfall is snow,
lands with grounds all thick ice,
I'm Mr Explore I dare to find,

Here are lands no government bides,
the only emperor is a tall penguin,
too bad for him how could I know,
later on in heat his palace ruins,
I'm Mr Man I rule and ruin,

Canned beef or stew, cold biscuits hard bread,
my food for months my crew with me,
the ponies are pretty but soon they must leave,
on supplies we're short and so far gone,
I'm Mr Leader I make the hard choice,

I'm at my limits even now I quiver,
rigid bodies left behind here you must shiver,
check my compass then look uncharted lands,
lost but unforgotten I've charted the path,
I'm Mr Scott now one dead-famous.

Fetid Fun

Fetid Fun

There are great many farts,
Each fall into their own class,
There's one called silent poison,
It makes no sound but raises hell,
Then we have dear ole' hissing Tom,
When he comes by your nose gets pissed,
Some farts sound like a great, great bomb,
They make much noise but leave no crumb,
One you may name the Great Purge,
When it's its time don't shit your pants,
Jack and Jill come when you're filled,
One shouts with one trumpeting after,
Unfortunately this is but few,
Of many farts I wish I knew,
When next you fart do play this game,
And give our fetid friend a name.

Inner Sanctum

There is a place far up above
where dreams, ambitions never die,
the place that is the stuff of dreams
though there all is not what it seems,
it is the place of love and lust,
the passions that burn deep when you thrust,
soon its torrents would overwhelm you,
and then there's nothing you can do,

There is the place of guiles and guilt,
the still where gurus seek the truth,
it is hard to tread the Middle Way,
when all men do is live for pay,
yes, that's the place of many graves,
where death is sealed before it's done,
the hallowed always gets its blood,
the faith of man must not be scorned,

Here is the place that you must reach,
but not by paths or skies or seas,
the ontos of our greatest deeds,
still fails to meet our very need,
because it wants and wants and never ends,
on this the human race depends,
but man must always contradict,
all that he knows could be deciet,

Yes, this is a place of great despair,
your pain, your pride, what you hold dear,
how many try to stem the tide,
that takes us places far and wide,
as for me I seek the deep,
the light where everything is me,
which says the truth that I must heed,
is rid the self of that I need.
