Ron Leighman Poem
I speak for those no longer alive
Some went through hell just to survive
Way off in foreign lands places
filled with gunfire and sand
With spirits so proud and true
They gave their all for me and you
With a sacrifice not felt in vain
As with all wars, they're so insane
I'm sure you're heard it said
Just remember Our Honored Dead.
There is still more I have to say
Their spirits shall soar all the way
They were husbands, fathers, brothers and sons
Soldiers were even mothers of proud sons
But all wars sometimes come to an end
So with tears in my eyes I shall say it
clear and speak it again
Remember all these soldiers and not
just how they died but how their lives began
Now after all I've said: Just Remember Our Honored Dead
