A Hollow Feather As An Exclamation Point

I am flying
I am screaming over the world with a light heart
Eternity just seems inadequate tonight
Just lying here so unaware of everything
This is so much more than nothing
These stars came out just for us

I can't think of anything other than you here with me

Beauty (A.G.)

Sitting alone in the sand dreaming
The wind blowing, the waves crashing, it's all so beautiful
But despite all of this, my mind is fixed on you
Your eyes blue like the clear summer sky
Your smile even prettier than all the sunsets combined
This nature on the beach is nothing compared to you

In Spite of a Rising Sun

In spite of this rising, darkening sun
I will bathe in the rays of the brightest light
And stare straight at the source
To prove that I will not lay down to die
Or lie paralyzed

I will dance beneath the brightness
of a million tanning salons being burned to the ground
And sing songs over the sounds of their collapse
To show that I will not go without resistance

Creation Destruction

Echo
Repeat and rewind
Play this back like it's an anthem of a revolution
Like proof of someone else's death and failure
Then make the same mistakes again
Again
Again

To show just how helpless we really are

12

And in the end the pain will cease. The tears will dry. The distorted will become beautiful. The tragic will become celebration. The empty handed will gain riches. The diseased will become well. The trampled will become kings.

Rumors of Communication

In searching for inspiration I found sadness
And despair
And hatred
And desperation
Frustration and guilt and anger

Realize that not everything in this beautiful world is beautiful
No matter how much you wish it was

A Train

A constant echo
Screaming through my heart
Speeding up the destruction process

Sliver to board
Speck to mite
Germ to infection

A runaway pest
Faster, faster, faster
Eventually. . .
Crash

Climb the buildings in this tiny little city
Climb up the windows and sit on top of the tallest building
Look down on everything racing by
And smile

Smile at the fact that this is so insignificant
Yet so elegant and intricate
Such a small piece to a gigantic, complicated puzzle
One color amidst a thousand others in a beautiful painting
