Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
When things pull you down
You can build up a little hope
Try hard till a way is found
For it’s the way for you to cope
You’ll need support and love
And you’ll find them among the closest
So seize the guide from above
Challenges can be easily met
Some situations you may let go
Courage you gather and move on
Another one may not be status quo
Other options may aid you grow
Roses have thorns, you see
Handling with care is needed
To protect yourself from injury
Hurt are those who go unheeded

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
Brute brown raging water
From torrential rain worse ever
Washing away all on 30th march
Took us by surprise quite fast
The deluge brought bitter desperation
Causing panic through its massive destruction
Stealing oxygen from the lungs of many
And stripping us of our safety
The nation’s natural disaster tragedy
The sign of man’s destined frailty
Brought great Mauritian solidarity
To the families in terrible difficulty
The city turned into a muddy pool
A scar not to be forgotten so soon
Can also be a harbinger of worse
That Climate change can bring doom.

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
Among the stars bright I'll shine
So don't cry for I'll not die
See me in roses and in sunlight
Or high above where birds fly
All hopes and dreams come to end
Like blooming flower withers
Fast it comes when life ends
But very slow for grievers
I'll be redeemed from worldly pain
God's payment is ash or dust
Wages for all that we do is the same.
Finally rest in peace we must
Love, beauty and health all fade
Gown of glory I'll wear
Pass that bitter grief all the same
And tears all that you bear
Smiles and sorrows are in a blend
Think of me as living for ever
Genuine love is Godsend
Disasters I'll fear never.
Nature's cruelty will not hurt me
Give me your smile, friend
Tears and griefs are not mine
I'll wait for you in the far land.

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
He tried hard not to break away
But could not keep them together
After all, he would never again stay
So he left in search of life better
Like scattered leaves after a storm
Was the root of family foundation
Aching high hearts were born
To play their games of destruction
Their home became colorless rainbow
Dad said he wouldn't return again
So with meager hope for tomorrow
They sat on a beach without sand
Do innocent offsprings deserve it
Trust on parents like flowerless spring
Why did their happiness now quit
Their favorite song they do not sing
Alone, the boy and the girl must cope
Plant new seeds of peacefull living
Even in hard times they hope
For any other joyful yearning
I pray that others do not taste
What the children went through
With no support worse they faced
Struggling to come up with food
They deserted school and worked
She as cleaner, he as errand boy
Helped sick mother who lost her word
And on Christmas they got no toy
Victims of such sudden violence
Saddened with snatched love and care
At such tender age they lost guidance
And grew for life only total scare

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
Teaching fervently in the class
You are a guide and model for exams to pass
As you train children to click on your lesson
Hence to copy your devotion
They download from the web of your server
All that they find in their favour
All in a spirit of love from what you teach
Inspiring them in hopes and dreams to reach.
In all kindness you draw their attention
And sow the seed of motivation
And delete all their negative feelings
So to save in their files only positive dealings.
You edit their work in all fairness
To insert tools to do their best
Your efficency icons on the screen
Are for them to select what they need.
Most impressive is the ambience
They perform with confidence
Mesmerised by your perseverence
Thanks for your competence.
You condition their growing years
And gain many supporters
In making smarter so many teenagers
And producing useful workers
Their carreer so well engineered
Till you grow grey hair and beard
So you are special on TEACHERS' DAY
For your goodness we all pray

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
When shall end
Our foe the pollution?
Cabons cause flood or cease rain.
And bring gloom and pain.
When shall end
Sorrows from ethnic strife?
Some only lounge and loll under.
And seek shade and breeze
And sit thereunder.
When shall end
Those impediments ?
Belching smoke from chimneys
Choke innocent lives.
Some have taste only for destruction
Have no concern for protection.
They delight in chemical feast
And anywhere they dispose waste.
Is there no way for pollution to end
And tidy living?

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
Pity we still do not realize
Acids badly hurt the soils
And increasing carbon oxide
Only precipitates the spoils
With increasing factories and automobiles
Chocking the air with harmful gases
Living is becoming more and more fragile
As Mother Earth cries and moans its etches
It's time to stop this attempt at matricide
And fight against all pollution
To reduce the cruel emission size
And save the planet for future generation
Better we walk where we can for short distance
And for our plants we turn to compost
For greenhouse gases must not worsen
Renewable energy should not be lost
We must prevent the warming of the ocean
And set up structures to avoid pollution
To recycle we must go for waste collection
Before the world plunges in critical condition
We must cease plunders of all sorts
And halt environmental insanity
Before living aids become exhaust
So we can cherish them for eternity
The tribulations of nature is very high
Because of our actions and inactions
Why should our children suffer and die
Why we should not prevent destruction

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
Sports orchestra is unique fun
On this Annual Sports Day
Of my collegeCollege
And a joy to share in races thyey run.
With a will to win are our athletes
Gathering speed from the start
As if fitted with turbo-blaster
Playing alone or in teams.
Some, though not in the lead
Have a heart and a hope
The spirit of competition
And still a desire to succeed.
While some are singing their support cadence
racers like tornadoes
Rip through the field
As fans cheer their crooning friends.

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
His result slip showed he had failed
Friends celebrated their success
But his parents and some he shamed
Had pinned on him their hopes and focus
His Dad said "For negligence, it's the price
Your direliction is hard to repair
So change your style to do better in life"
And he sat like a mountain in despair
Son forgot laxity and his ugly past
And set himself to make it remember
Reformed for next exam and fixed fast
"Failure teaches success," he would utter
No more sorrow and shame he'd bear
No faltering, no fall but bright future
Bad experience lessoned him to dare
And avoid loss of face through failure
He abandonned excess video games
And concentrated in his text books
Made alterations to feed his study aims
And set Success like bait on his hooks
His consistent work bought him success
The year ended with earned love and praise
His negligence was just like an abcess
That of failure was just his life's phase

Beejadhur Sewumber Poem
Le Morne warm wind enfolds me
Voices from the cliffs and the sea.
As it blows the fatal slave stories
Its wavelets bring their real agonies.
Time like the waves come and go
Their ordeals facing the brilliant glow
Are miseries the vegetation covered
With all persecution they suffered.
In rugged slopes and prickly bushes
Their hearts thumping of ambushes
Slaves escaped cruelty and starvation
But perished in all confrontation.
Rainbows and amber gold sun rays
Still shine the same as in old days.
No more pirates lurked in the sand
No more slaves hide on the mountain.
As wave fragments become whole
Their spirits embrace,soul to soul
And they all join to say softly
"We are the symbols of cruelty".
