Two Sided

Mirror image
You’re not the same
In the shape
But you lack the pain
Tag-a-long mirage
You don’t belong
Are you what was?
What it could be
A mimic of me
Does a soul reside
In your reflective hide
Do you even know?
Could you grow?
Or just adapt
If I change
You react
Are you reaching through?
A prison of glass
I've a question to ask
What side do you reside
What face has the brain
Where do I hide?

Refreshed

Centuries wade
Waves cascade
Rippling remorse
Runs it course
Weathering force
Distant source
Beneath the surface
Undercurrent
Cleansing extinct
Purities obsolete
Blood allege
Evolved allergy
Seventy percent
Of existence
Lies in waste
Rust filled taste
Chemical imbalance
Toxic rain
Can’t complain
Better to remain
Corrosive cold
Wetted earth
Dying of thirst
Poison dew stain
Evidence on the pane
We’ve not long to stay

Crutch

Flooded veins, broiling anger
Lost at home, talking to strangers
I come to cross roads
That have no name
Conquering obsessions,
Never ending game
Emotion, a rusted chain
Forgiven, not worth saving
Defeat, I kneel to no man
Obsolete, manufactured again
Wonder wasted
Completely inebriated
Slowed reaction
Sense terminated
Spirits sight
Beer-goggled delight
Grounded, never to take flight

Neo Neanderthal

Culture, a vulture
Martyrs feed greed
Oil stained blood
Program a new seed
Coffins, casualties
The media loves to see
People die for county
Is there any need
 To breed a bigot creed
Put another embassy
Across the sea
In there holy tree
Hang a fantasy
Color the enemy
Skin shades of brutality
Disguised as hope
Ending of humanity

Architect

Gift of the fathers
Stand before others
Hands of the mothers
Hold us together
Ten story oddity
Steel shelled monstrosity
Like organs dwell
Cubicle cell
The nervous system
Organic hell
Paper blood
A computer god
Timeless toil
Ignorant clock
Its not life
It’s your job
War is waged
A profitable crusade
Overtime, time saved
An epic escapade
Dig holes, deep as graves
Line your coffins
With dollars paid

A Pity

You’ve seen it before
Never spoke of
The hapless Individual
Helpless in principle
Mercy, out of sale
Withered broke frail
Teenage angst
Hand me down hate
Weaken by the irate
A sitting bomb
Counts and waits
One last push
To the point to agitate
And detonate
An unjust fate
Could have saved
Should have stayed
Didn’t manage a role
Hunting pack cruel
Achieved enlightenment
Silent excitement

The Gavel

Cold scared
A little unprepared
Hopes lost
I’m well aware
I'de tries to move
But I don’t care
Impressive, your presence
Last meal, death sentence
Gavel rings
Destroys dreams
An angry chair
Wishes to share
Its personality
Electrifying character
Waiting arms
Tin crown
Watch your step
It’s a long way down

Ancestor

A ripple across a pond
Disturbs the calm
A snap of a branch
Tells the hunt is on
Colored in earth
The prey dissipates
Absorbs the world
And imitates
The hunt draws near
He can sense his prey
The taste of fear
Lead this way
Not far now
Dinners near
Around the bend
Behind a brush
A clever beast waits
For the signal,
Begin the ambush
The hunter tries to escape
More prey stand in the way
Suddenly he feels fear
As spears draw near

Archeologists

Hilltop tomb
Old crypts ruin
Grave robbers den
Home of unforgiving
Cracked wall
Mortuary
Side disturbed
Unnecessary
Mother and child
Sleep till the end
And when you dig
The sleep you kill
The dream you steal
Someday will
Saturate your dreams
Haunted by lost screams
Torturous beings
Rabid things
The hole that you dug
Came out through your soul

Rome

Destroy moral bounds
Distill the damnation
Produce temporary soothes
Attention deficit deathtrap
Empires made of scrap
Mass media’s contagious
Meant to enslave us
Distracting virus
Never silence
Radio waves
Devils communicate
Observe and contemplate
Wire made noose
Have eyes only for you
Gently rest your neck
Pine sided bed
Cushioned from toe to head
