Hollow Brim

Her face is cast, carved in wood
Her heart beats fast, as it always should
She lavishes her love, with branches that care
Is lounge to a dove, and shade to a bear

But the heat has ascended, and the greener she has gotten
All have her recommended, while she sits and feels forgotten
All need her constant, a fueling misdemeanor
Dare she protest a constituent who needs, but not wants her?

Her roots have risen, her legs appear to be strong
She shakes of her prison, and searches to belong
A small lonely island she's found, to free her of their lust
But finds she is sadly bound, without any trust.

Not so lonely as the island had seemed
She becomes antsy and drained of all glee
A crow comes near and sits on her arm
Life becomes clearer with instant alarm.

She begins to realize that she is,who she is
She can deal with compromise, it's better than this
wherever she goes, whatever she sees
She must overcome her foes, and become.

One
With
 All
Trees.
