Ripples

The wind blows gently
A leaf lands on the water
ripples all around

Who Is the Person That Is Me

Who am I?
Who is this person I know to be me?
I look but I just don’t see,
The person I know to be me.

The person I know to be me,
Is not who I am right now.
But if I’m not myself, then who am I?
And how do I learn to be me?

How do I learn to be me?
The person who hides inside?
I look but I just can’t see.
I don’t know who I am, do you?

I don’t know who I am, do you?
If you know who you are,
Then can you tell me please,
How do you know who you are?

How do you know who you are?
Do you wake up one morning and know?
Or must you look back one day and see?
Please tell me the way to be me.

Please tell me the way to be me,
I need to know who I am.
How can I face the world on my own,
If I don’t know who I am.

If I don’t know who I am,
I’ll never be anyone.
I’ll never become who I want to be,
Just one more person in the world.

Just one more person in the world,
Can I ever be anything else?
Can I be someone whom others see,
And help them to be themselves.
