Frett Board

Silence the soundtrack,
Solitude the song...
All life dims around me
As I play along...

Bitterness my audience,
The tense present the applause..
I play on as never before..
Without so much as a pause..

The strings bear the torment ..
Of all the pent up pain...
I pass it on, well knowing..
That it is bound to happen again...

The notes are loud and sweet,
The chords do perfection portray..
But my mind.. it isn here...
It is roving.. the vales of dismay..

Each string a charm..
Each strum a solace..
With not a care I wander..
Thru the distant star's rays...

Alvida

He pledged not his love
N more happy she couldn have been
For love is more than jus pledges..
Love is a breath of the unseen!

Days many, too many, flitted past..
Unmarked, uncelebrated, an unspoken of affair..
She walked the tormentous streets of Silence
So wistful an air, so proud and yet so fair!

Then came time to an algid still
Twas time come, to wade away
Thru waters untame, untimid n cold,
N all when there was so much left to say!

PARTED LIES THIER PATHS...
Two souls, caught unawares in the aphrodian web
The aroma locked up deep, deep, within..
Yearning. Yearning , n yet too proud to let out the ebb!

She could have looked back,
n CHOSEN TO THWART A BECKONIN FATE
But she! She walked the tormentous streets of silence..
N in cruel withering dignity, did but wait.

He yearned no more , but a smile, wistful n meek
A smile drunk of cupid's unsurpassable foolhardiness
Differences forgotten, hearts rent asuder..
Moments when murder was loneliness!

Pain did her wistfulness rule,
The smile melted into the parting
As roads drew on, uphill, ahead..
Memories.. All mem'ries that defy Time's calling!

Moonwalk

Suddeny it was all new
A new solitude
A new silence
A new emptiness
As if from a nightmare, I jerk awake
Where are all those I'd cared to call my friends?
Where's the meanin I'd cared to find in life?
What's come of those dreams, those endless dreams, that used to mar my very sleep?
New realms swim beckonin before my eyes

A light stroll , I decided, will take off the strangeness a li'l
Through the vast expanse, somethin suddenly began to emerge familiar
(Maybe this verve was mine, beyond reckonin,
Maybe silence n solitude were playmates i had forsaken?)

N yes, up above n shinin, was the moon..
So far away.
N yet,
never cross enough to despise me for more than a night.
It was autumn come a-calling..
The august autumn of another anonymous soul
And as i walked along, so did she
In step
Abreast
One with me.
N silence found a new meaning,
in the newfound infatuation between us.
My love wasn wasted.
Not any more.

So What!

So what if I stand stranded
On the straits of Loneliness!

THIS is what I had demanded,
N anythin more'd have been MEANINGLESS !

So what if my Trust floats wrecked,
N my heart winces with all the pain !

MAYBE, its all part of the Great Plan

N in Patience, would I gladly teach myself to trust again.

Adrift

Lost I am, I know
A piece of wreck,
yet to strike the shore.

Meanwhile, beaten , n lashed,
For eons since the cruise crashed.

but, yaara mere there is,
in bein 'even' a piece o wreckage,
a certain bliss

Afar, far from d flockin fleet
Driftin, unsure o what d next sec u'l greet

miles n miles, pass beneath my feet
n onward, simply onward, n ne'er to retreat

Rovin across barren treacherous plains
Oblivious to all d sick sea's stains

D voyage uncharted, d waves unframed
N d wreckage, it moves, unruffled, untamed.

Whirlpools, n hailstorms, n torrents rave past,
Makin me, markin me, scarrin me to d last

Unbeseeched,
         unsought,
                alone,
                  adrift,
Life for a lone log, is as gay as swift

All mine, d endless lamps that shine upon
the unruly waves, d whole horizon

Pausin to applaud, pausin to offer
To some rudderless lone log, a li'l succour

N movin, keep movin, on n away
The sea is too wanton, too wanton to stay

Driftin away, driftin alone
Until at last.......... Dry Land, n PEACE THEREUPON.

yaara mere- a passionate local usage, signifyin, o buddy o mine.

She

Tearfilled eyes , I watch her , N happen to wonder...
Does she know that my thoughts go with her, yonder ?

That, in my every smile, my every bliss,
Its HER that I desperately miss ?

That every time SHE kisses me Adieu
My heart, it screams inside " No ! I'll always want u ! " ?

That evry sec, each passing day,
I go desperate wishin she'd come this way ?

That evry time she comes to see me off
Its tears that I lock back within my laugh ?

That evry sweet smile of her's, dunno why
Drives me to despair, to heave, to sigh ?

That evry time, my love, I try to declare..
Words can just NEVER get me there ?

That she's my strength, n she's my fire
Life without her'd have gone haywire ?

That she's the one who keeps me sane
When life withers me out, she's my rain ?

That no matter what I'm, no matter where I go,
I do reap, but that which she did sow ?

That deep within, with love much untold
Its HER, whom, closer than heartbeats I do hold ?

That come wild weather, or the torrentous tide
The Zenith is mine, when she's beside ?

That lost though I may be, in worldly glory
Its SHE who writes, n directs my story ?

That should the whole World stand by, n prant n sneer,
I can still close my eyes, n walk her way sans fear ?

SHE WHO WAS MINE, N EVER SHALL BE...
MOTHER , O MOTHER, ALL GLORY TO THEE !

On the Roads To Tiruchendur

The sun in all its glory
The earth too tired to resist
N deep within me, something stirred
Ah! Long lost wander lust!
The roads wetre mine, once again..
NAY! I belonged to the roads!
N I went along , heart in refrain
I became one with the roads!
Shorn off all traces of that which labelled me different
I found myself one of the crowd..
Just another traveller.
People went past, harried, unhappy,
People went past, merry n whole..
I crossed a thousand faces
Each a language of its own
Some smiled, some nodded,
Some smirked, some winked,
Someone waved from out of the unforgivin heat..
Yet another one raced past, without as much as a moment's meet

I'd found The World. anew. raw.

N it spoke to me.

Told me of how things shall pass by, as do people
Told me how, no matter who i was, I was just one among the millin millions
Told me how the way was part shady, part, sun's mercy
Told me that things when new , excite
Told me that no companionship was for ever.

N one thing it told me strong
THAT THE ROADS ARE THERE, N THERE IT LAY,
N ALL I NEED DO IS MOVE ALONG.
