Minds Eye

Take your time
And count it down
Nothing's going to change right now
The stones were set years before
You laid them down, you chose the floor,
And now the path only bends when it needs to flee
the weeds the worms the shrubbery

So take your time
Stop for air
Yes, quick steps will get you there
but at the end of the path-the win is short
And tired feet is all you've got

So ease your pace and smell the air,
A free mind can take you anywhere.

La La Love

pace the room
and look to tommorrow
hope that you'll find a thing to distract your sorrow

bite your lip
un hook the phone
and hope that you'll find a way to bare being alone

but
as the truth does settle
as the sun falls for the night
as the silence surrounds all that once was light

you feel the burden and weight of this emotion you're in
knowing either way you cannot win
you must give in
the temptation is strong
just embrace the assurance that life goes wrong
despite best laid plans and hopes and prayers
but, know that life can take you anywhere

so

pace the room
and look to tommorrow
hope that being apart doesnt mean an end

bite your lip
just distract your sorrow
by phoning and kissing and loving again

Retro Fair

Buckfast and concrete slabs
Neds and rain and thoughts of dad.
Highflats, pigeons, pavement's hue
Subway makes me think of you.

City City City lights
stream on by
flashin neons reds and yellows,
and the bridge that takes me into town-
full of buses, truks, cars and drunks-
and junkies.
- hangin on by a shoestring,
eyein up ma bag like it's a new thing,
starin at me like im not really there,
just another passenger through their smothered glare.
And where it all began and should end I've no idea
It's just another city,
Another Retro Fair.

On show for the world
Seems unreal, but you've heard
The screams of the caged up people,
The People, The People, the people.
They've forgotton to keep their eyes on the prize,
They've forgotton paradise.
Too many high flats and grey hues stealin their eyes,
The people, The people,
The People
Buckfast
Concrete
Rain
Pure lethal.

Alright Now

Changin tides,
Never forgettin...but..,
Always bettin on a new day,

Sky gettin clearer,
Horizon is nearer,
Its funny that when against the odds
I always find my way,

But
My sister is smilin,
I know its blue skys now,
Dont know about mum and dad
But i know we're alright,
Put up the fight,
it looked grim along the way
But now we're standin..
Still breathin...
Holdin on,
We're okay.

Just Me

Small time girl,
Just me,
With big time dreams to just be happy..

In a city so full of people I feel so alone
In a city so full of streets I've nowhere to go, nowhere to turn,
I've learned that everything comes at a cost
But with so many roads here how can I be lost?

I just need you..
These are my innermost thoughts that I'm writing down,
Echos of cries and pain I've found,
I don't want to be sat here feeling these things,
But sometimes the world has a way of clipping your wings.

Note

It
Means nothing to me
They're his words
Written down
Forgotton history
He
Never stayed around
Long enough to tell me

It's
A battle ground
In your own head and heart
I've found
Constant
Roundabout
Stoppin off
Between
Peace and
Pure
Confussion
Not knowin
The way in which
Your feet are goin
Down a good street?
Maybe today
Probably tommorow

It's a tommorow
We work that shift for
Waste the hours away
For a future lost in fog
And continual back log
of past beings
Forgotton dreams and meanings
The history
He left for reading
Its
just words on paper
Means nothing to me

Sizzle

like...you know when you're in a car at night time with the city lights bright and
whizzing and the cool night air buzzing and the music's up loud??
and that moment just has it's own sound?

like...when you're in a crowd of friend s you haven't seen in a while and you all
smile at the same time and finish each other's lines and can read each other's
minds..that familiar warmth that you're part of something and these people will
love you regardless and know you so well you don't have to explain ANYTHING..to
them you mean something.

like..

like..

he holds your hand when he's with his mates and laughs at your mistakes and
moments of madness....he makes you tea in bed and never, or rarely
complains...he pulls you close in the rain and kisses your neck..all the time...
makes you sizzle inside.

sizzle and sizzle

inside

Lightning

Mitchelhill has gone now,
No more forks of yellow from forty clouds,
No more 5 times round the roundabout,
No more Bruce Lee, Cavalears or fender sounds,
Just echos of Santana off Castlemilk's ground.

Memories
Seem to build like thunder clouds
And just one spark can let the sadness out
Like lighning
Seen by all around
Hard to ignore
There's a memory behind every one of Glasgow's doors,
Seems I can't escape that thing I've been searching for,
Seems this ring on my hand is the weight pullin me to the floor,
So,
How do I get passed the memory clouds and out the door?

Not Enough..Cheated

Its that feeling
That they're okay....but i'm not,
That they're...happy...
But not estatic,
But content for now with what they've got.

But i know,things change,
And new excitment comes along,
And there's me again left standing in the middle
Wondering how I let it go so wrong!

When the truth is...
It was never right,
It was never the dog's,
It was always doomed to find its pathetic way...
into the group of ....what 'once was'

Gutter

Gutter
I'll show you who is the olympic swimmer
Shell may be lookin thinner
But the spirt's fightin fit and ready to win
Not givin in
That's my r.s.v.p
This world may be lacking in respect, love, values and honesty
But it aint gona rub off on me
I'm not going to follow to the water's edge
The revolution shall not be fed
The revelations will unfold
That's why my spirit must be BOLD.
