Emma Van Niekerk Poem
I sketched you in my heart,
I inked you to my being,
You're tattooed to me my love,
Ingrained in my soul.
I know its so cliche' -
The very thing you detest.
But I put you there so you could never find your name written in my stars,
Thus never able to take yourself away.
I see you now in passing cars, busses and trains,
as they come and go my love,
Unaffected by my hurt,
Their purpose remains the same.

Emma Van Niekerk Poem
Your eyes were empty darling,
Dead to the world,
Oblivious to the sound of my voice.
You were broken darling,
Your ears blind to the love in my hands.
Barron baby,
Bruises baby
Black, Blue, just evidence that we were alive
Hold me darling,
Hollow arms, cavity in your chest.
All you said, All we did,
Left helpless the second the light left your eyes.
The wolves got you my love,
Licking red tongues,
I couldn't fight them off,
Blank, your face hollow,
Begging to be filled.
I tried baby,
I really did,
I gave us my best,
What was left to show?
Bloody T shirts, Broken furniture,
Your heart more barren,
My spirit left,
Scared, rigid,
Broken,
They got me too love,
The wolves got me baby,
But you didn't flinch,
you couldn't.
A vacant corpse,
They didn't let you survive.
