Pain

Pain
Sydney Friend

Pain.
I feel pain.

I know what I’m doing is wrong.
No, I must make myself belong.
Don’t you eat another bite!
I hear the same old song.

Pain.
I feel pain.

My wrists are bleeding red.
The voices are screaming in my head.
The song is growing louder,
“No one cares unless you're dead.”

Pain.
I feel pain.

Now my body is shaking.
How long will I keep faking?
Does anyone even see me?
I’m broken and I’m aching.

Pain.
I feel pain.

Suddenly, they see me.
“Well that girl was never eating.”
“I always saw the scars.”
Yet, no one saw me bleeding.

Pain.
I feel no pain.

And now here I am lying,
six feet under and they’re crying.
So, this is what the world is.
To be loved you must be dying.
