How To Eat An Oreo

Do you know exactly how to eat and Oreo,
Well to do it you,
You unscrew it.....very fast.
'Cause a kid will eat the middle of an Oreo first;
And save the chocolate cookie outside for last.

His All Seeing Eye

Pondering and wondering; what should I do?
Knowing that God is able to see and carry me through.
He knows my sadness and feels my tears,
And how I am often overwhelmed with fear.

But I am silent before Him, for I don't want to ask,
Him to do for me another difficult task.
It's not hard for Him, its just hard for me,
Because the way out of it; I just can't see.

I am always asking Him for His help,
He has always been there for me, there is no one else.
So I just sit here silent, wondering and pondering,
As my troubles and problems around me seem to be thundering.

So sad and empty and lonely I feel,
Is my love and trust in God for real.
Or do I just give Him lip service as I speak,
And it is not His face I truly seek.

I know what He said, but I am sad and blue,
I am sitting here acting as if He is not able to pull me through.
My God ain't weak; He sees, feels, understands and hears;
My sadness, my silence and especially my tears.

I need to arise and shine and be for real,
'Cause my God truly knows just how I feel.
But my relationship is not about feelings,
That will have my soul rocking and reeling.

My relationship is about believing what He said,
And not being blown by the wind, but standing on His Word.
I have to stand firm and can't be moved;
For God and His Word has been proved.

No matter what I feel or what I am going through,
He is able to save, deliver and help me and you.
We must have confidence and trust; also called faith,
Lean not to our own understanding, and accept His grace.

I cannot be moved by every wind that blow,
I will stand on the Word, because I do know,
That through my sadness, tears and fears;
God is able to deliver, for He is real.

Born Again

I was born in sin and in sin did my mother conceive me;
I wallowed in my iniquities and allowed satan to deceive me.
I hurried out to do things which were not just and right;
Occasionally they were done during the day, but mostly at night.

It wasn't because I was ashamed, that's just when friends got together;
We'd party and have a good time no matter what the weather.
We dress for the occasion and stayed out all night long;
We were hard hearted and not listening to our parents sayng we were wrong.

We knew what we were doing and was gonna do it our way;
It did not matter what people would think or what they had to say.
Then one day the Lord pricked my stony heart;
He said the ones I was hanging with, it was time for me to depart.

He said; "Come out from among them and be ye separated;
Abide in Me and I in you and be ye elevated."
"Lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets you,
My Lord said; "Listen to the words of your Father before satan gets you."

Now I had a race to run, I was running for my life,
I wanted to be full of the Holy Spirit with a mind like Jesus Christ.
So I hurried out to do thngs which were just and right,
Mostly I did them during the day, occasionally at night.

I was not ashamed when friends saw me or we got together,
Only we would praise the Lord and have a good time no matter what the weather.
We would dress for the occasion and shout all the day long,
Our hearts were happy as we listen to God's Word and gave up the wrong.

The Lord purged me from iniquities,
No longer did I live in sin.
Satan could not deceive me becaused I believed;
I WAS BORN AGAIN!!

Jan Allison

I sought the best
To win this contest
I wanted it done Judy's way.
I needed to know if I fit the bill;
And could write what she wanted it to say.

I used a form,
Which was not my norm
And stumbled upon mistakes
But on the scene was my Queen
And she was there for my sake.
She viewed my spews,
And told me what to do.

In her review
She found a few
That I needed to correct.
She was gentle with her words;
Didn't make me feel like a reject.
And through it all when it was done
I came out on top, I am (#1) one.

I found a friend across the water
And she is worth more than a quarter;
She is worthy of her call
She has that influence to bring out greatness
And she is willing to do if for you all.

Thanks Jan I know you can.

The Great I Am

I Am Alpha and Omega,
I Am the First and the Last.
I Am Which Was, Which Is, Which is to come;
And all that shall come to pass.

I Am the Light of the World;
I Am the Door for the sheep.
I Am the Bread of Life;
I Am the True Vine, not one of deceit.

I Am He that liveth and was dead,
Before Abraham was, I Am.
I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life,
I ask you to please feed My lambs.

I Am the Good Shepherd,
I Am the True and Living Way.
I Am the Resurrection and the Life;
Hear My Voice today.

I Am come in My Father's name,
I Am He who searcheth the hearts and the reins.
I Am gone to prepare a place for you,
That where I Am you may be there too.

I Am coming again to receive you unto Myself;
Be ready when I come or right here you'll be left.
I Am the Great I Am!!

Tithing

A dime out of every dollar, a penny out of every dime;
I only want My children to give Me what is Mine.
I blessed you with a job, it pays good wages too!
And all I ask you to give Me is the ten percent I am due.

I promised you in My Word, that I would bless your finances,
If only you would put me first in all your circumstances.
If you would acknowledge Me in all of your ways,
Then I will give an increase and bless your remaining days.

If only you will trust Me, and believe what I say;
Then bring your tithe and offering to My house today.
I'll open up the windows of Heaven and you will plainly see,
How to prosper and be successful, and be a blessing to Me.

I am waiting for you,
I am just around the bend.
And when you make one hundred;
Remember, I am only asking for ten!!

Don'T Worry - Be Happy

Here's a little poem God wrote;
You might want to learn it quote for quote;
Don't worry, be happy.
My child cast your cares upon Me.
Get rid of all the anxiety;
Don't worry, be happy.
Sometimes life gets a little deep,
Give it to Me, I neither slumber nor sleep.
Don't worry, be happy.
If you can't sleep 'cause stuff is on your mind;
Get in My Word and you will find,
Don't worry, be happy.
Think on things just and on things pure,
And you will find that this is the cure.
Don't worry, be happy.
There is not anything that I can't solve.
So please let Me be involved.
Don't worry, be happy.
Ask Me, ask Me, pray, communicate,
Don't be a hater, participate.
Don't worry, be happy.
So if you've got something that's just too hard,
Trust Me, trust Me, I AM GOD!!
Don't worry, be happy.

My Role Model

Who said my role model had to be black;
Who said she'd have to be like this or this is the way she should act.
Who put it in my head that my role model would have no faults;
Or that she should be put on a pedestal.....she would be safer in a vault.
What my mom told me and I do agree;
Is that my role model would exalt the best in me.
She could go through the storms of life and hold on to her faith;
She wouldn't have any special powers, she would seek the Lord's face.
She could confront tragic issues, and handle them with grace;
She would seek a higher calling, and wait patiently in her place.
She would have a concern for people and reach out to that need,
She would do it no matter what color, religion or creed.
She would put forth her best effort when she was on the job,
She never considered a task beneath her or anything too hard.
She would be positive and prayerful, and also watchful and careful.
She would have tact and have mercy; and avoid controversy.
As much as possible, she would live peaceably with all men;
She would resist the devil and he would flee, she'd avoid his agent sin.
It may seem like I am exalting her or lifting her too high,
But she is a Christian woman and the Lord she does not deny.
So when you read this poem, it is really a little story;
It is not her I am exalting, but to God be the glory.
She is a friend who listens and has a deep concern;
I have worked with her for many years and these things I have learned.
Now you may be curious as to who this woman is,
She is a friend who has occasionally wiped away my tears.
She only finished high school, but that did not hold her back;
And one other thing.....NO...she is not black!!

My Christian Mother

God bestowed a blessing upon me;
When He chose you as my mother.
For me He chose a Christian woman,
I am glad there was no other.

When I say Christian, that's Christ-like,
I will explain what I am saying,
Sharing and caring you taught us,
Meditating and constantly praying.

There was a difference in you mom,
You set yourself aside;
You placed you hand and life in God's Hand,
And allowed Him to be your guide.

You did well in raising your kids;
As best could be expected.
You made sure that in doing so;
Praising the Lord was never neglected.

You diligently took the time,
To teach us right from wrong.
You possessed a love that was kind;
Understanding, gentle and strong.

A Christian Mother,
That's what you are.
And you will always be;
My shining star.

And I wish you a long and happy life;
A lot less misery and no more strife.
And my God bless every life you touch,
And remember I love you so very, very much.
