A Cynical Truth

How can this be the land of the free home of the brave,
when less than two centuries ago this was the home of the slaves.
These leaders are just playing these games,
paving the way for our children to be subjected to cravings and rage.
Our lives might as well have been staged.
I know me and the rest of the world will never be on the same page.
Because I know the moment that we step out of line,
we will be confined,
and later thrown in a cage.
When will we realize that we are the ones with the power?
But they feed us these lies,
man,
mind over matter.
