Serena

Serenity is silently standing
Still in a mountain forest
taking in the crisp scent
of winter’s falling fresh snow
Her breath flows
out gently like
a meadow, mellow stream
energizing and warming
her from the inside out
Her blood rhythmically
ticking off nature’s time
like ocean waves
rushing in, rushing out.

An ocean she reaches
out and reaches into,
delivering me
from drowning
in the depths of
a dark, chaotic sea
of obsessive,
destructive thought.

Into new life she breathes,
opening eyes wide
to sit in the seer,
follow the hearer,
and watch the thinker.

Resurrect salvation,
exhale into space
infinitely stretching
and timelessly expanding
into eternity.

She offers
an experiential wisdom
Quiet on the shelves
of the world’s greatest libraries
Absent in the lands’
most prestigious universities,
Redacted in the
fervently dogmatic religions
and divorcing
the blind Mind of
indoctrinated souls.
