All Over the Place

All Over the Place

I can tell there is joy in your heart by the look on your face...
and your sweet spirit spreads joy all over the place.

You must know the Lord by the joy I see...
Like you, others want to be.

You didn't say a word but your face said a lot...
An unhappy person you are not.

There is joy in your heart by the look on your face...
and you're spreading that joy all over the place.

Thank you for the witness that you've given to me...
A joyful Christian like you is what I want to be.

A smile or a hug or maybe a kind word or two...
and doing this will bring out the best that is in you.

Reflections From a Grandparent

Today I did something I had never done before...
I took a good look at the face of my grandchild and yearned for more.

Fearfully and wonderfully made was that child on my arm...,
But I am fearful because I know that his enemy wants to bring him harm.

So I bless this child and pray for him every day...
Lord, keep him safe and sound as he goes out to play.

But the thing that matters is he's as healthy as can be...
These little ones are gifts from God to grandparents like you and me.

So we cherish these moments when we walk hand in hand...
And together we'll build memories as he grows from a child into a man.

Tom's Mid Day Cafe

For Spiritual Food in the middle of the day...
A great place to visit is Tom's Mid Day Cafe.

The food is good and the service is great...
There is always an open table so you want have to wait.

So pull up a chair and open your heart...
And what Jesus does is the exciting part.

A rhyme, a word or a thought or two...
Jesus is honored by being with you.

For spiritual food during the middle of the day...
The door is always open at Tom's Mid Day Cafe.

My Coach

My coach put his arm around me today and said," Son,
I believe you can "...
I love my coach and today I became his biggest fan.

He said," Son, you can be what you want to be"...
And now he is helping me believe in me.

I wish I could known him years ago...
But I'll carry todays memory wherever I go.

It's amazing what a few words can do...
What an impact it can have upon you.

My coach knows Jesus, this I know...
And in my life it's starting to show.

My coach put his arm around me today and said, Son,
I believe you can,"...
Thank you coach; I love you man!

A Special Garden

I have a special garden that grows down deep within my heart...
And many things are planted there and many more I want to start.

Each day I make it larger by adding row after row...
And like any other garden there are weeds that I have to hoe.

I have a real garden that graces my front yard...
But to see the beauty of my heart garden, for me, is not hard.

There is no way I can show you this garden nor can you wander
through it's rows...
You can't gaze upon these flowers which are a tonic for my woes.

Hopefully, you have a garden like the one I hold dear...
It can make your day seem brighter and quiet many a fear.

A personal garden can help you be more friendly and encourage
you to want to do your part...
So cultivate a special garden in a spot down deep within your heart.

The rewards may be many but the peace of mind it gives...
Is such a great reminder that God's grace and love still lives.

My High School English Teacher

Recalling fond memories from the past is something that I occasionally like to do...
And there are tons of great memories when I think about you.

You probably don't remember much about me...
And the positive influence you had you probably didn't see.

There were many things that you used to do...
Things that were just uniquely you.

You were a special influence I want you to know...
And I carry those memories wherever I go.

I think God for the encouraging things you used to do...
And allowing me the privilege of rubbing shoulders with you.

My Old Barn

I love my old barn because it brings back memories galore...
I started playing there before I knew what memories were for.

The barn was there before I came to be...
And great grandparents preserved it so their descendants could see.

Good times, bad times, it's seen them all...
Winter and summer and the harvest in the fall.

Each nail, each board and the bird nests too...
There is a time honored tradition in an old barn like you.

I love my old barn because it keeps my feet on the ground...
I even get excited when it creeks and moans and makes it's mournful sound.

There is a spiritual connection one finds there...
And a heart full of prayer fills the air.

Thanks Coach

We sit in the stands and cheer for your teams...
And we see all that you give and we understand what the word sacrifice means.

You coach our sons and daughters and you give them quality time...
And you help them discover great work is done between five and nine.

You're a hero to many and a friend to a lot...
And you'd probably do it if you didn't get paid or not.

Thank you coach for all you do...
The success of our kids is a tribute to you.

The Fall of Fifty-Nine

In the fall of "59 we played our best...
That was the year we were better than the rest.

Brooks and Richard always led the way...
And John and Butch were there to play.

Campbell and Bailey were on the ends that year...
And with a line like ours Billy never had a fear.

Farley and Bill, great tackles were they...
And Wayne was a great guard-that's what all our
opponents had to say.

Doug and Steve, boy could they run...
In the fall of "59 didn't we have fun?

We had great coaches that year, no one can deny...
Coach Jim, coach John and coach Gainer- they made
us reach for the sky.

We had a team that was really fine...
That was our team in the fall of "59.

WE won all our games and finished number one in the state..
And for all of us who played the fall of "59 will always be a special date.

Trust Him

You can trust God in the darkness as well as in the light...
You can sense His presence in the daytime as well as in the night.

Sometimes you can feel shaky when you hear the world's alarms...
But a good hiding place for me is in God's everlasting arms.

When the darkness moves in and the light has gone away...
Those everlasting arms are a good place to stay.

No matter what, God has you focused in His eye...
He was with you when you were born and He'll be with you when you die.

So live each moment and let God be in control...
And always trust Him to take care of your soul.

The last thought at night, the first thought of the day...
Stay close to God and He'll never let you stray.
