Christopher Delorenzo Poem
Connection by vision
although I did not see
... the torment,
which seems like eternity.
Satisfied by scent
although I could not smell
... the vulture,
that so defines your culture.
Pleased by taste
although I could not tell
... the contagion,
from your kiss i'm containing.
Death by touch
although I did not feel
... the deception,
that comes from my sense perception.

Christopher Delorenzo Poem
A Wingless Angel
I once dreamt of an angel.
A most beautiful and elegant angel.
She had long raven black hair and almond eyes.
She hugged me softly and told my pain goodbye.
I once dreamt of an angel.
So pretty, so fair, so fragile.
With skin like porcelain
and lips like velvet.
I once met this angel, though not from above me.
She was fearless and wingless, but just as comely.
We came together as one, well our hearts did.
Then one day me and my angel departed.
I once knew this beautiful angel.
Who changes the earth when she sings.
Above all else I feared only one thing.
That one day my angel would grow wings.

Christopher Delorenzo Poem
Screaming thunder in a pounding vein.
Falling rain beating on hot skin.
Flashing fears of loss and gain.
Spinning the wheel of emotion within.
Inside this storm is peaceful bliss,
burning hope against the wind.
Wherever the leaf may fall, this
place is the moment you may miss.
Every beat against the ground
Is a memory with no sound.
Creating floods of pain admist
the still trees, ripples, and risk.

Christopher Delorenzo Poem
Lost and Found
Many times in the starry sky I stare,
all I feel is shattered shards
as I reach for who I once was.
All in pieces throughout the endless night.
So many times in the ripples I stare,
All I see is distorted memories
as I swim into the nothingness that I am now.
Everything spread far throughout the infinite ocean.
Many times I have tried to reclaim,
What I took from myself.
But if i'm lost to myself how do I look
through the thousands of broken pieces inside?

Christopher Delorenzo Poem
Sometimes a memory is all we need.
It can hold all the beauty; all the pain.
Happiness grown from a once carefully planted seed.
Reflections of emotions like the thrum of pounding rain.
Sometimes twin souls can share the same dreams.
Dreams of love, safety, and what could be.
A sheen of warmth of your hair, skin like the softest cream.
Eyes that make the stars hide, eternally captivating me.
Sometimes time and distance hold no sway.
Sometimes yesterday feels like today.
Sometimes good things happen to those who wait.
Sometimes if all you do is wait, it may be too late.

Christopher Delorenzo Poem
Emergence
As darkness descends, so too
Shall the light ascend from within.
Oftentimes reminders are not a what, but a who,
That resurrect a strength lost to woes therein.
Tendrils of yearning reach out looking for what belongs
Blocked by our own self doubt.
Destroy the constructs of imprisonment,
Created by a false show of support.
In them exists a key to completion,
Keys to doors not yet opened.
When hope drips from their words like venom,
Remember that is needed for the antidote.
