Samuel Griffin Poem
The few achieve enormously,
while the decrepit fools realize their assistance.
During the control,
beneath the breathing rumor,
they consider.
Below the eye,
authority falls from its pyramid.
Little plans towards the bright objection.
The powerful urge swings above the time-bound findings.
Among the magnificent storm,
those collect quickly
following the rainy justice.
The dizzy deal muffled by the old symphony
beside the cemetery of memory.

Samuel Griffin Poem
I am American as long as I have any choice
from the Mississippi to Illinois, I share my voice
an immigrant’s son, a mother’s child
from sea to sea, the last frontier smiled
A twinkling eye, political liberty rejoices
a democratic life takes morals and active voices
don’t feel in group, I think and defile
I am American
I love my country for more than the illusions of choice
or the foundation of rights that we at intervals must foist
from great east and west we reconciled
not in symbols but chains and exiles
I am American

Samuel Griffin Poem
I’m bizarre. I’m insane. I’m absurd. I’m cliché.
I assume, you assume, we assume rationale.
You’re bizarre. You're insane. You're absurd. You’re cliché.
I attain, you attain, we attain to concur.
I dissolve. I degrade. I inject. I repress.
I detect, you detect, we detect, common sense.
You dissolve. You degrade. You inject. You repress.
I explain, you explain, we explain to prolong
an exchange of elite socialized cigarettes
sitting on the window sill, for who? Afternoons
to pursue LSD or maybe to consume
only you babe, oh yes, only you.
