Sidewalk Stepper

The power lines stretch across the sky
moonlight makes a shadowed place uninviting
as a blinking street light
has trouble making up it's mind
what's a daydream called if it's late at night
apart but we're currently immersed in
the atmosphere of a city breathing it's vibe
I'll meet you there
if you'll remember the same place the same time
and looking above us
the power lines
stretch across the sky

Sliding Door On a Van

It's just descriptive
but you my take it a different way
I can smell the mix of us in that article of clothing
leaving the situation too abruptly
I'm not innocent of knowing
like a dream inside of a dream
life is so much better more
fascinating than fiction
your second chance I hope you realize and a risk on love you don't miss
here you are walking away
there I am in a burning building situation and looking for the exit
there I am driving down the street
when for a couple more conversations and moments with you
I should've stayed
it's just descriptive
but you may take it a different way

Optimistical

allow now
focus with pure optimistic determination
balance it all while you still can
live life
dream dreams
steal a kiss from her lips during long walks
just holding hands

City By the Rivers (St.Louis)

Where did the innocence go so fast
it's all rearranged
so sad
people getting angry so quickly
maybe someday it'll change
but as for now I make my home in the
most dangerous city in the
United States

Euphoric Recall

So balance another moment
tip the scales if you must
show them that you mean it
tell them it's out of love
a beach void of footprints
along a river with absolute current
how that place stirs my memories
I replay it all
in my
memories

Kiddie Pool

I saw them lock eyes
she smiled and they had a moment
then she changed like a mirage as she got closer
it dawned on him what happened after a while
she' s like a kiddie pool
so shallow and not very polite
so fake and so un-neat
maybe someday
my hope is without too much pain
she'll be able to see
maybe even change

Real

relish those moments
cause you'll never have them again
embarrassment was invented just to cause nervousness within
clouds cover the sun just to make rain
there you are
right on time
smiling again
yeah it hurts sometimes
so I don' t take these situations for granted
the never ending cliches in life
I just can' t take it

Tilt

If you can, tilt this way
right now for the first time
my work is on consignment
yet , I'm still waiting to be paid
I suppose if this is how it must be
for these moments
just for you
I'll work for free
can I whisper to you how many colors I see in a sunset
or the brighter side of a rainy day
share with me some of your lime light
and if you can , if you have the energy
c'mon and tilt this way

Without Warning

At least then,I can say I tried
grabbing her without warning, when she's so unsuspecting
I'm guilty of stealing a kiss
the oppurtunity presented itself
jaded during an innocent chance
a moment
I didn't miss
in her eyes I see the sunset reflecting
at least then I can say I tried
grabbing her without warning
when she's so unsuspecting
I'm guilty of stealing a kiss
