The Land of Promise

In the realm of promise, Mindanao stands,
My native land, where dreams are born,
Yet soaked in innocent blood, her soil cries,
The promises many, yet few are done.

Amidst shadows they appear,
Stealthy, cunning warriors here,
Professed men of righteous might,
Yet their masks obscure the light.

In the cloak of faith they stand,
Deceitful hearts, a darkened brand,
Their decency, a veil untrue,
Innocent blood they'll soon imbue.

Beware the wolves in shepherd's guise,
Their twisted souls, a grave surprise,
For under virtue's guise they creep,
Betraying trust, their secrets keep.

Anguish pierces deep, on starry nights,
In cities or woods, a haunting sound,
Guns' bark and lights that shimmer bright,
Tear peace apart and hopes are frowned.

Is there a glimmer of hope for tomorrow,
When will wails of sorrow finally cease?
Praying for our children and their kin,
A chance for life in a land of lasting peace.

Amor

Amidst deep silence, dark as night,
Souls escaped from pestilence's blight,
Death shan't find their hidden track,
In this realm of peace, they're back.

Amor, once loved, is now fast asleep,
Years passed, and her memory I keep,
A beauty, once famed, now covered in dust,
Yet vivid in my heart, her colors trust.

Time's lake is deep, serene, and calm,
Afloat like a lily, she rests with charm,
Peace and stillness surround her soul,
Entangled in serenity, life's toll.

Longing, eager in my heart's embrace,
Amazed by her courage and grace,
As I mourn the days of yearning pain,
Her patience in waiting was a refrain.

In the heart of silence, they reside,
Souls untethered, peace as their guide,
Amor's slumber, a timeless repose,
In stillness, her beauty forever glows.

Airplanes

High above the clouds, they fly,
Faster than the birds,
Roaring louder than lions,

For You and Me

It was for you and me,
That Jesus left His throne,
Bore the scourge and agony,
Shivered His flesh and bone,

It was for you and me,
He took that gloomy tour,
Towards the dreaded Calvary,
Summed His tortured hours,

It was for you and me,
That Jesus bore the cross,
Paid the heaviest penalty,
Was supposed to be ours,

It was for you and me,
He wailed the saddest cry,
It was for you and me,
Jesus was nailed to die,

Oh, that you and I may see,
Our wickedness beyond measure,
Jesus to set us free,
In our stead bore the torture,

It was for you and me,
When Jesus' death sufficed,
Christ rose from the dead,
Our sins He paid the price,

His great mysterious love,
Knocks the door of each man's heart,
His mighty power recreates,
Renews our lives whole to restart,

He rose back to His throne,
Sitting by His Father's side,
Prepare! He's coming soon,
Today is to decide,

Life of the Frog

Hear them rattle, a joyful song they sing,
Rejoicing in the rain's refreshing grace,
Amidst rice fields, thirst-quenching drops bring,
Four-legged dwellers welcome rain's embrace.

In the coolness of the rainy season's call,
They captivate a wanderer's delight,
Talking amidst paddies, where they stand tall,
Karr karr karr kokakok, their voices unite.

Mingling with the breeze, rural nights they fill,
Their chorus resonates, joyous and free,
Gratitude to heaven's love, they instill,
For a life that humans oft overlook and flee.

Happily hopping, leaping through time,
Seasons change, but hope remains,
Ever ready for the next rain's rhyme,
Embracing the life we often disdain.

Behind the Stars

Behind the stars, love's promises dwell,
Enduring through the passing years,
In Christ who guides the flight of tomorrow,
In a realm of life untouched by fears.

Laughter echoes with genuine delight,
No hoarseness betrays its grace,
No clownish words, no false insight,
Just pure joy, that manifests with peace.

Happiness springs from a heart sincere,
Rest assured in heaven's gentle hold,
Eternal providence, love's frontier,
A life of peace and love's stronghold.

So when stars wink in the night,
It's their way of beaming with glee,
God's symbol of promises is bright,
Of endless joy and life's harmony.

The Silence of the Rose

Silent rose, adrift on the morning's breeze,
In my misty, pale garden, she sails free,
Yet her scent makes my nose sneeze,
Paradox of quietude and vibrancy,

Her whispers like bells, sweet and clear,
Over bridges of time, a longing swells,
Truth is stretching my ears, I can't but hear,
A symphony of emotions, she compels,

Deafening silence, harsh and intense,
Overwhelms me with its weight,
Strips smile from stars, leaving no defense,
Leaving me hurt, groaning in its gait,

Her silence a sword, piercing deep and true,
Reopening scars, long thought healed,
Drawing tearing like raindrops, on cue,
From clouded eyes, emotion was revealed,

Creeping, crackling through the closed door,
Into chambers of my guarded heart,
Unmindful of vengeance, it seeks no more,
Leaving pain in its wake, a painful art,

Bottomless depth, the silence of the rose,
Lulls my soul to faint within its hold,
In this cradle of peace, where hearts repose,
Alone, feeling safe and bold,

Rivers

Like frolicking friends,
Rivers chat, murmuring sounds,
Homeward bound, gayly.

Memories In Highschool

Memories, dear memories, I hold them close,
Treasures from the past fondly disposed,
In photographs, innocent faces smile,
I cherish each name, remembered for a while.

Teachers, mentors, strict yet kind,
Imparting knowledge, shaping young minds,
With endless patience, they guided our way,
Through confusion, they helped us find our say.

Young love's crush, a soaring feeling,
Her presence lit my days, joy revealing,
Her sight ignited my soul's cheer,
But alas, my love, she didn't appear.

Teases and whispers reached her ear,
Revealing my secret, my heart's sincere,
A snub, a heartache, my love returned,
Falling grades, my emotions churned.

Graduation day, a bittersweet farewell,
My school molded me, a story to tell,
A thousand thanks, though not enough to say,
To those who helped me grow, each day

No To War, No To Nukes

No discrimination, no greed, no war!
In unity and peace, let us stand tall,
Nations, come together, heal the scar,
With love and compassion, we'll break the fall.

Scars of the past, not for vengeance to cling,
But as precious lessons, let's hold them tight,
War, a resolve that wrath will bring,
Evil's deceit, war's traitorous might.

Hitler hiding, like a rat in the bunker,
Japan overwhelmed, her wings torn asunder,
Mussolini spared not, this ruthless encounter,
In the face of war, all countries must ponder.
