Spring

Reborn in sunshine
Nature is free together
Alone in changes

Smile Please

Songs smiles fill the air
Why can I not join the fun
Insecurity

Winter

Gloomy days begin,
People fall around like snow,
Grit is needed now

The Storm

The darkening sky embraces the air
Rain brings warning of coming fury
Taking that which was beautiful and fair
Fingers tapping to check the mercury
Silence is broken by crashing thunder
People scurrying to run for cover
As nature awakens from its slumber
Ripped from the arms of its peaceful lover
Rolling and crashing with bolts striking through
The dark heavens roar at the sinful earth
As rain beats out its furious tattoo
The world washed clean waiting for its rebirth
Quietly rumbling the storm moves away
Lessons learnt, beginning a brand new day

Never Be Alone

shrouded by shadow
hollow in fear and sadness
smiles will medicate

The Forgotten Heroes

The chill of morning sweeps the streets of Whitehall.
Rain falls like tears from the sky onto the Cenotaph stone.
I fear the sight of his name, should the pain make me fall,
Amongst the crowd I stand here alone

No loving words to give me hope,
No letterbox clatter with joy renew.
So in memories past I sit and study,
The pain of loss is deep for you.

As I lay here in the silence, I wonder how much father knows,
About this nightmare and the darkness that surrounds me.
These are the demons that haunt my mind,
Longing for death to set me free.

No 10 gun salute to make my father proud.
Death has taken my ID tag, my title and my name.
Would my father disown me?
The thought drives me insane!

In the deafening silence,
I cling on as hope slips away.
No news of my son,
Tortures every day.

I hear his voice in the darkness of night,
His image floats above my bed.
The boy I sent off to make me proud,
Does he lie among the unknown dead?

My senses are shattered, body battered, my sight is gone,
My head drums out an S. O. S thumping on death’s door.
If only a loving touch could soothe me,
Oh, to see my father once more!

To be able to look upon your face,
To be a family once more.
When we have always been true and faithful,
Why must God allow the horror of war!
OH PLEASE GOD!
Oh please God!

The Forest

The crows continue to fly over the once sunlit meadow,
and the trees of my youth stand tall and proud as I once did,
nature will not give up the battle against these modern times,
I’m suffocated by the smog which slowly slaughters the land,
blurring my memories of the past brings tears to the eyes,
this is not the land I remember,
change is as inevitable as the sunrise,
but hope is dying within me as I see the land in its demise,
the cries and shouts of the ignorant blanket the beautiful,
as man has officially sold the world,
the sound of laughter and joy has been torn away for fumes and profit,
this is not the land I remember,
serene lakes are now property for the rich to be seen for the fortunate,
creation is now possessed by the created for its own pleasure,
the ground cracks under my feet like the passion I once preserved,
embracing the minute clean of air I can discover, clears my thoughts ,
guilt grips me as I signed on the dotted line for this obliteration,
this is not the land I remember,
stars become my guide to leave this cauldron of remorse,
the wind and swaying of the leaves sound like the hiss and hatred I deserve,
nature must now find a new home,
I decide to become the earth of the dying forest,
as this is not the land I remember.

First Light At the Zoo

The swirling mist seeps in and around
Animals about to rise and animals that fall in slumber,
Creatures who sleep alone and some in many number,
The fingers of sunrise reach every beast from every continent,
Be it reptile, mammal or insect,
 The keepers keep sentinel,
It is a wondrous, unique place that people adore,
Watching animals they could only dream of seeing and to explore,
Hearing the roars, growls, hisses and screeches,
Taken from Jungles, deserts and beaches,

Gathered together for all to view,
 Whatever the season
There’s no other feeling like visiting a zoo.

Looking Bright

The whispers of the mind are where the truth is stored,
Sometimes we speak them but not of our own accord,

One’s own evil may not be explained,
Words are spoken and friendships are strained,

Regret fills the soul and love for yourself is lost forever,
Which is why I must endeavour,

So be kind and pleasant and love thy neighbour it’s been told,
Phrases like that cannot be argued with and try to uphold,

Passage of kindness and trust is challenging to find on this earth,
We experience life altogether and we only receive one joyful birth
