Amusement Park

Amusement Park

It's a merry-go-round world
with it's big brass rings
She's a roller coaster romance
as she dips so she sings.

It's the haunted house
and the tunnel of love
the depths of the valley's
and the Heavens above

It's three for a nickel
five for a dime
it's a game of illusion
forget those concepts of time.

C'mon brother
win your little lady a prize
bloated head and bloodshot eyes

We bump our minds on bumper cars
drown our sorrows in neon bars

It's a wrenching gut
a timeless trip
it's a queasy stomach
from the spinning whip

it's the house of mirrors
it's the busted glass
it's love in the big top
it's a horse's ass

it's cotton candy
it's the sweetness of life
it's time on the back streets
it's the cut of the knife

it's a dog-shit obsession
it's the ring masters plight
it's an all day sucker
it's the clown's angry bite

it's a paranoids playground
a romantics retreat
it's a space in time
where all lovers must meet

It's the tears
and the laughter
it's the light
and the dark

Admission is free
the abode is the Park!

Storming the Gates of Heaven

O ' Satan, father of all that is sinister and evil,
Of all that is foul, putrid, and base.
Ruler of the underworld
I've have had a vision!
You led the legions of the damned
In a cataclysmic war,
To regain your rightful place
Upon the throne,
A throne from whence you fell!
Calling for Holy Jihad, emanating deep down, from the bowels of Hell.

Father of lies, and deceit, you have issued a declaration of war,
A war against all seven heavens in the celestial Kingdom.
Metatron, prince of the divine face, king of angels, chancellor of heaven.
has informed the angelic hierarchy of your declaration of Madness!
Gabriel, the left hand of God, protector of paradise,
Angel of annunciation, resurrection, mercy vengeance, & revelation,
Has honed the Malakhs ( angels) into a fighting force to be reckoned with
Those tortured souls, in perdition for all eternity, await the cry to battle
The armies of chaos and lunacy do swell.
Death and decay, spew forth, deep down from the bowels of Hell.

Great and revered Lucifer,
You were once, a high, exalted angel
Your envy and jealousy are righteous.
You are Beelzebub, lord of the flies,
Instigator of wars, corrupter of leaders
You are called by many names.
Azazel, Belial, Duma, the deceiver, the dragon, the devil
The demon seed, am I. Son of all that's putrid, rotten and evil!
We will defeat Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, and Raphael
The Messiah shall rot on the cross, deep down in the bowels of Hell

Then three blast on the Shofar (Rams horn) then a profound silence,
Finally the silence was broken by the song of the Seraphim
"Kadosh, kadosh, kadosh” (Holy, Holy, Holy).
The “still small voice” issued forth: “I AM THE LORD THY GOD”
But this time the Adversary’s will is stronger,
You are the Antichrist, the battle is soon at hand.
The gates of heaven shall rattle and crumble into dust.
The Prince of Darkness will rule the day,
Love, Light, Life, God, anything holy you shall quell.
Relishing the sweet victory, deep down, in the bowels of Hell!

Apocalypse, the day of reckoning, the end of the world is at hand.
The toxic smell of death is in the air.
The Beast walks the earth,
with 666 emblazoned on his forehead
The Adversary banished from heaven for all of eternity. In the underworld does he dwell, seething with jealousy & hatred deep down in the bowels of Hell!

Festival of Lights

HANUKKAH
Festival of Lights/ Feast of Dedication,

As a kid, Hanukkah
was the Jewish replacement for Christmas,
But even better!
We celebrated for eight nights,
Which meant eight presents!
It was the festival of lights

We ate latkes or potato pancakes,
We Played with spinning tops called driedels
Sang the driedel song
Opened one present each night
Filled up ona chocolate money called Gelt
Got all the adults to sing along

In our beautiful nine branched candelabra
Called a hanukiah or menorah
One Hanukkah candle was lit each night
An extra candle, called the shamash, or the "attendant"
Was used to light the others candles
Oh what a memorable sight!

 Antiochus IV Epiphanes, invaded Judea
Came upon the Jews with a great army, took their City by force
soldiers plundered without mercy, slaying a multitude of Jews
Antiochus spoiled the Temple, stopping the ritual daily sacrifice
Judaism was outlawed, circumcision was banned, an alter to Zeus was erected
and pigs were sacrificed in the temple, the people lost their right to choose.

Antiochus's actions provoked a large-scale revolt
Maccabees fought a guerilla war, and won the battle
The Seleucid monarchy was crushed
The temple was purified and rededicated
Undefiled pure olive oil was required to light the temple menorah
Only enough oil for one night, yet the oil burned for eight, the people were hushed

Hanukkah, a celebration of struggle and liberation
Whether or not the miracle occurred
Is secondary to our continual struggle to survive
We place the menorah with candles burning
In a window, to show the world
We’re here, we’re free, and we are still alive!

There Is No More

There is NO MORE!
There Is No More!
9/10/2013

Now that Afghanistan is winding down
A new battlefield must be found
Preferably a place with internal strife
Where we can promise a better life
Assurances that no boots will touch their soil
Just as long as we have access to their oil
Innocents cry and wail, rage demands holy Jihad
Osama, Saddam, and now Assad
Regime change for Syria and Iran
Harkens back to Neo-cons genocidal plan
With our Media lapdogs standing near
Public opinion is controlled through lies and fear
President took us to the brink, not knowing which way to go
But the people stood their ground, and shouted out a resounding NO!.
Central, South America, Near and Middle East
Warmongers grow Hunger, time to feed the Beast
The Oligarchy living on the top of the hill
possess the weapons that will surely kill
Right wing fanatics still standing strong
Believing their way is the right way, and everyone else is wrong
Drone strikes, cruise missiles, chemical weapons, just like real War
Nuclear weapons are next, then there is no more!

Red, White and Blue

Red, White and Blue

I fought in the Revolutionary war
To win freedom from tyranny
I fought for the right to choose my religion
For the right to live free!

No taxation without representation
Was our battle cry!
Fought to uphold the system of slavery.
We would live free or die!

I joined the rebel army
To fight the Yankee way
We sang about ole’ Dixie
And walking with Jesus on judgment day

I must of killed me a hundred or more
Of those Union fools
While Sherman burned down our country
Homes, hospitals and schools.

I fought in the war against Mexico
Fought in Korea, and World War One
We raped, pillaged and plundered
And would not stop until we were done!

I was flying over Japan
As we dropped Enola Gay
Three days later, we let Little Boy fly,
Wishing the innocents to have a nice day.

I walked the Ho Chi Minh trail
Set flame to many straw huts
Killed, raped, a whole lot of gooks
And those traitors back home, said I was nuts!

911 shook us to our core
So we attacked Afghanistan
But getting rid of Saadam and bombing Iraq
Was part of our long-standing genocidal plan.

Shock and Awe, a day that will live in infamy,
Is the name that we gave,
To the barbarous saturation bombing
That laid countless Iraqis in their grave

The fighting continues, war goes on
It’s big business, lots of money
More young men and women, to feed the machine
Have the last laugh, because it isn’t really funny.

Now I am wedded to this chair,
Having lost both legs, sad but true!
I sit straight and erect, as I salute
The red, white and blue!

Life Is What Happens

[ edit poem ]
Life Is What Happens

What a long, strange life it’s been.
Childhood and adolescence were close to normal,
I never felt quite right,
Never fit my image of a normal kid.
Dealing with internal demons for so many years.

Adolescence was hell,
The frigging dybbuks took control
Internally screaming, “your not good enough”, “your dirt”,
Externally, manifesting as cystic acne, ugly, festering sores.

Then long hair, drugs and rock n roll.
Feelings of compassion, and forgiveness.
For awhile the voices got quieter,
Infrequent periods of contentment,
First love, and then the Voices were back.
Alcohol, anger, self-hatred,
Move away! Leave L.A.!

Transplant to Sonoma County
Twenty-three years old, alone, frightened.
A period of relief, enjoyment, discovery.
The search had begun!
A time of growth, feelings of great love,
for life, for spirit, for myself.

Politics grabs hold,
Open to new friends,
Seeing myself as worthy to be loved.

Christine, daughter of the Motor City,
Nancy Marie, the wild one,
And then she picked me up hitchhiking.

How do you measure a life?
Marriage, children, many good years.
But the demons reappear,
This time as a progressive, degenerative disease
I watch the life I thought I knew, disintegrate little by little,
until I’m stripped close to the bone,
And I watch!

Three decades spent creating a structure,
A way of being, a persona, a box,
In which to place all our preconceptions
About love, family, commitment, hopes and dreams.

Like Schopenhauer’s “Will to Live”, life moves on,
Refusing to address the petty personal dreams, wishes, and prayers
Focusing instead on the perpetuation of a far less then perfect species

My Guardian Angeles

My Guardian Angels

4/2013

Tattooed Angels
Enshrine my body,
Protectors of what's right,
forever vigilant
All day and all through the night!

Ganesh, Hindu Elephant God,
Loyal son of Shiva and Parvati
Embodiment of selfless devotion/remover of obstacles
Provider of strength and honesty

The winged Sufi Heart
Coupled with the holiest name, ????
A constant reminder of Who I really Am,
And from whence I came!

Phoenix, symbol of rebirth
Arise from the fires of hell
To reclaim thy rightful place,
On the throne from which I fell

Oh Great Buddha
Bodhisattva, the compassionate one,
Exorcize my demons, my suffering,
Sitting beneath the Bodhi Tree, thy will be done

Om Mani Padme Hum
Adorns my left arm
Beneath the Double Dorje, Dharma Wheel,
Stating "Life just IS" It is the magical charm

Peace symbol amidst Growing Vines,
a life long bond of daughter and Dad,
Symbolic of ever growing and expanding love
Alive, vibrant, political, for this I'm am forever glad

Celtic Tree of Life, Sustainer of beauty and grace,
making connections with all that is alive,
Encompassing the dark and the light
Enclosed in a circle of wholeness, where all life does thrive

Ouroboros, snake eating it's own tail,
Symbol of completion, of that which is whole,
encompassing both the tree of peace, and the Celtic tree of life
The snake forms the sign of infinity, opening the way for the SOUL!

Shekinah, Quan Yin, Gaia, Great Goddess,
Resting in a Pyramid of Power
She is our foundation,
so necessary by which to scale the tower

We find the ancient holiest of names,
Emblazoned in a ring of fire
forbidden to be spoken or written
with the promise to take you higher!

A beating heart, Star of David, and Om,
Union of opposites and the universal sound
Life, Compassion, Peace, & Love,
The Divine presence is all around!

My Angels, guardians of body & soul
Artistic symbols of love & hope
Battling a debilitating disease
Giving me the will and strength to cope

Never Again

NEVER AGAIN!

How many times can we claim
“Never Again”
As justification for our
Systematic genocide!

“Never Again”
Has worked time and again,
To control the world’s media
Revisiting Nazi death camps
So we will never forget

As a Jew,
I must support Israeli atrocities
Or I am labeled anti-Semitic,
Ignoring the actual definition of Semitic
Which includes both Jews and Arabs!

How can I stand by,
And watch my fellow Jews,
Destroy Palestinian homes,
Palestinian schools, hospitals, and mosques,
And hold fast to “never again”.

When will my Israeli brothers and sisters
Awake from their collective reliance
On a “rational” that can no longer
Overlook the fact
That the oppressed have become the oppressors

That integral to the strategy of
“Never Again”
Is the erroneous conclusion
That all and anything
Is acceptable in the prevention of its re-occurrence.

I embrace the concept of “Never Again”,
But not as a rallying cry
To obliterate, decimate, and subjugate,
my brothers and sister Palestinians.
To this I will take a stand!

NEVER AGAIN!

The Naked Truth

The Naked Truth

He stands before you butt assed naked
Stripped of all preconceptions, false assertion or allusions
All that he once convinced himself to be true
Now lies before him in a dark, dank, putrid puddle.
Who he once believed himself to be
Has been thrashed and scattered to the four directions
With the cyclonic force of an oppressively hot sirocco wind.
All of his persona have been revealed, his masks are now transparent.
He pathetically attempts to engender qualities such as
Compassion, empathy, kindness, and honesty,
But, he is as Teflon, nothing sticks.
Like a frightened animal, his eyes on the lookout
His movements, his actions, are purely instinctual,
All that exist is the moment, the present, Right Now!
Exposed to the world, he cringes in complete and utter disgrace.
He craves for an exit, a means of escape, to disappear.
Suddenly aware of his nakedness, he vainly attempts to cover himself.

Likened to Adam in the garden,
A man beaten down, brutalized, defeated
Trying to pick up the pieces of his shattered life

Insttution Ain'T No Solution

Institution Ain’t no Solution!

I’m a feeling sick,
I need to leave,
Rosy plays with feces,
As she clutches for my sleeve,

Where the hell’s the keys
Lock the door,
Blood trickles from Geoff’s ear
As he cracks his head against the floor

Archie’s breaking windows
Cutting up his wrist
Glen’s going stir-crazy
So he lashes out with his fist

Hold that bastard down,
Strap to the bench
My vision getting foggy,
I’m getting nauseous from the stench

Do we know what they want?
Can we give them what they need?
Shall we modify their behavior?
Or sit back and watch them bleed

Psychologist, Psychiatrist
Teachers and their aides
What function do they serve?
Besides that of janitors and maids

They wear Institution clothes
They follow Institution rules
Eat Institution food
And become institution fools!

So sleep my friend
No reason for to rise
The sun forsakes these wired windows
Bringing brightness to your eyes

Your body’s trapped within these walls
Yet, I know your soul soars free
So do your thing, you’ll be king
And I pray that you pardon me
