Verlena Dillard Poem
Why do you give me a hard look from your face?
that you don't like what you see?
that I'm from a different race?
Why can't we see eye to eye?
why do I disgust you,
like you don't wanna be near me
would you please tell me?
tell me why you hate me?
Do you hate me because of the color of my skin?
like I'm a disease?
you don't think I have desires?
that I have needs?
We aren't from the same race,
but by soul,
we live in the same world.
You may think I'm nothing,
just push me into the mud,
knowing we both have the same colored blood.
You can't judge me by my appearance,
or by my race,
or even the color on my face.
Say what you want to say,
you can't judge me,
for I didn't choose to be born this way.

Verlena Dillard Poem
Even through hardship,
you gave me the membership,
to stand up again;
from those who don't believe,
I can see,
right above me,
you are there to my human eyes only,
I don't believe in you just faithfully,
I believe in you spiritually.
For broken hearts comes to tears,
for desperation comes to fears,
to deal with insanity once again.
No matter what agony,
or I snap mentally,
all the deaths been shown these days,
I will hold my faith of praise,
to all the madness we've caused,
you will show us your miracles,
for you are known as God.

Verlena Dillard Poem
Amazed by Earth's beauty,
Understand the change,
To which when it's sunny,
Unexpected for those see the season image from their cage.
Many don't understand about fall,
No matter what, fall is the most beautiful of all.

Verlena Dillard Poem
Blue is happy an to be desired,
gray is to be afraid, timid an tired.
Brown is to be rushed an to be bold,
black is to be serious an cold.
Orange is excited an busy,
green is nice an neutral, but undecided and filled with envy.
Indigo is very happy, relaxed an romantic,
purple is mystical, a dreamer and passionate.
White is constant, confused an frustrated,
pink is affectionate, cool, loving and enchanted.
Colors are like our emotions,
they fly around in our heads,
like expressions on people's faces,
that we don't really be seeing,
colors are also like words,
they all have certain meanings.

Verlena Dillard Poem
You look cute,
but scream like a beast,
your sweet voice is in mute,
and your smile has deceased.
No longer in love,
afraid to be crushed again,
feelings in the mud,
countdown to ten,
to a nervous breakdown.
cut yourself to reduce pain,
but still feel the depression,
your tears are like rain,
your heart is full of regret.
Can no longer relate,
shattered the world of love that you've created,
only concentrate on hate,
on those who abused you.
A bloody rose looks harmless,
but it's filled with cruelty,
expect the unexpected,
from deadly beauty.

Verlena Dillard Poem
I am human,
aware of imperfection,
even through different races,
their misunderstanding and affections.
My name means bravery,
to stand against fears,
to hide my tears,
to fight off my misery.
My name means to understand,
we all look different,
but we all live in the same world,
the same as our human hands.
My name means to live,
travel in the earth's air,
nothing can compare,
to my freedom will.
Life is unfair and that's fine,
Life is hard, but it's mine,
my mind is my domain,
I may look different, but my beliefs will stay the same,
even in my own grave,
you all will remember my name.

Verlena Dillard Poem
The cool air,
blowing in my hair,
the sound of bells ringing loud,
sitting down on the soft clouds.
This down right pleasure,
is what I'll treasure,
that no other dream can measure.
These yellow an red skies,
reveals its moment of time,
sleeping in the mid air as much as I please,
the view of the day in the sky,
as clear as the seven seas.

Verlena Dillard Poem
I used to be blind,
but I conquered and unwind
seeing the truth in my eyes
staring at the skies
I recognize the world's purity
even beneath its anger an cruelty.
Instead of punching walls
I push my rage aside, and let it all fall
even through the midnight
with the full moon
it's a sign of light.
The ways of reality
the ways in humanity
relate in the fantasies
an the lessons in the memories.
Before I sleep an I be resting
I would say
angels "you have my blessings"
even with all of my sins
I would say sorry
to you Lord, I hope you can forgive me.
Through times of pain
and times that were fun
I hope you can still help me
even for all the things I've done.
