Land of the Free

Land of the free???

Give me your tired, your poor
Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shores,
Send those, the homeless,
Tempest-toss to me,
I lift my lamp besides the golden door
Enter welcome to liberty
Come enjoy this land
A nation built by the sweat and blood of immigrates
A chance for freedom
A chance for the American dream
We come along a way from that statement
From embracing arms to protest rallies
Hate spells from the top down
Laws passed to shut down the boarders
If the dream is to live America
Like those who came many years ago
Why is it now
That we do no longer want
The tired, the poor, the homeless
The children who suffer the most
Scared of the mob formed
Chatting slogans on hate
It is the norm to make fun of this situation
Who will do the work Americans will not do?
They are stealing jobs from Americans
God’s presence is sprinkled over the founding fathers
From their beliefs
To our constitution
Where has the love gone?
Why do we now not practice what god taught us
Love thy neighbor as you would love thy self
Are we now a loveless nation?
Are we now a Godless nation?
Here in America you must speak English first
If that is the case
Then why do I not hear us speaking the language of Native American
Go back where you come from
We do not want you here
Send back lady liberty
We seemed to have forgot her message
We have Forgot the nation that embraced the lost.

Was Blind But Now I See

Was blind but now I see
When I left you were a sweet girl
Your innocence was golden
If only this fool
Realized the treasure he possessed
Without thinking I let you go
Years have now passed
That foolish young man is gone
All that is left of me
Is this seasoned foolish man
Blind to the beauty
That was you
Was I afraid of love?
Sitting here I now know the answer
I was afraid to love you
I was also afraid to lose you
The times we shared
I keep hidden away
In the chambers of this heart
Your face made the sun envious of the glow
Your eyes I could get lost within them
Your hair danced in the breeze oh so freely
The touch of your skin
I think I will keep that thought
My own personal secret
I did not know it then
I now see
The girl I always dreamed of
Was always standing in front of me
My only true regret in this life
Of not expressing the way I feel
Shyness was a curse to me
Boldness is now my voice
But I am too late
To say how I felt
Like a candle burning
So does my heart melt
Wishing for a moment back then
To say to you
That I have always loved you

I Am

I Am.

I am your shadow
That follows you
I am the stars at night
Jealous of your beauty
I am all things
The cool breeze
Gently touching your face
Rain on a summers day
The light you see
Waking up every morning
Heavens sunray
I am the beating of your heart
The painter
Painting a smile upon your face
The silent whisper
Whispering your name
I am love
The key opening
Your hidden secrets
The hand that wipes
Away your tears.
I am jealously
I am envy
I am lust
Desiring a taste
From the forbidden fruit
I am you
I am me
I am beauty
I am vanity
Peace and hope
Life and death
A sunrise and sunset
I am the tracks
Of your tears.
I am the melting wax
The wick of a burning candle
The wind that snuffs
Out the flame
I am good
I am evil
I am the lost
I am the found
I am all things
Like your shadow
I will always be around.

A Time To Remember

A time to remember

The innocence
The smile
The way you laughed
The stare of your eyes
All these are the reason why
I love you more today
My knees are weak
When the words are spoken
When the words from your lips
Invade my heart
With a simple
I love you
Lost in the memories we share
Replaying them all
Like a favorite movie you know all the words
Like a song stuck on repeat
Lost in the groove of the beat
The beat of our hearts
Playing for us
A love song
Our song

I Have Said Too Much

I have said too much
Spilling out my feeling like a tub overflowing
Telling the world how I feel
Sharing the secrets that are meant to be keep hidden
Here I write confessing my love as if I was in a wooden box at church
Expressing myself so freely
Giving away parts of my soul
Like a lady of the night
I give it freely and charge none
Why was I born this way?
When will the time come that I change who I am
Who they all say I must be
I no longer want this life
No longer want to be that first smile
When you wake in the morning
I guess as of now
I have said too much
Am I happy for you probably not!
My words go unheard if the world lost the sense of hearing
That is okay I lost the sense of feeling
Feeling like a stepping stone
Wiping your feet on my soul
Your own doormat
Have I said too much already?
Perhaps I have but none will take notice
None will send a volley cheer to enlighten my darken mood
An artificial night as I lay here with the curtains closed to the world
Pondering what is my next move
The sun shines so bright outside these walls
But no light is seen
Maybe now I have said too much
Maybe I haven’t said enough

Windmill

Windmill

I am the windmill
In the open field
No souls around me
My only friend
Is the breeze
Who comes and goes
As he please
Today I am happy
Why you may ask?
My response would be
I am the windmill
In the open field
No souls around me
Here I live
Here I am free

Tainted Love

Tainted love
Our love is usual
Some would say toxic
We like to say passionate
Like thorns on a rose
Bleeding as I pull them from the rosebush
Can’t you see I bleed for you?
The pain is our love
Tugging on the strings
Our family praying that our love will come unraveled
Baby our love is so fragile
Yet we dance stomping on eggshells
Ignoring the warnings
Flashing like a sign warning
Watch out!!
We pay no mind
Into danger we ride
Swaying to our own rhythm
As we love till the night fades
Till the night sky
Gives birth to the sunlight
Coming off this high
Are you ready for another taste?
Open your mouth
Open your mind
Open your heart
As I invade your innermost parts
Taking with me a part of you
Leaving behind a part of me
Slowly we peel back this fake image
To reveal our true faces
For the first time
We now see eye to eye
Let us run into the sun
The burning heat
Is unmatched by the fire from our desires
Unmatched by our tainted love
The question remains
Are you an angel from heaven?
Did the devil send to collect his prize?
You said there will be no lies
Speak the truth
Hush now as I listen to your heart say
The words your mouth can not
Will this stop me from loving you?
I am not gypsy
Your cards I can not read
Our future is unknown
By the way we love
It has already been shown
Like a pistol blown
A bullet straight to the heart
By these words
I bleed out my soul
To you a gift
Open it if you must
Into your hand I trust
Is this real or straight lust?

Damn This Heart

Damn this heart

This heart I have
Can I give it back to the maker?
Why did you fill it with so much love?
So much passion
Why
The weight of it sinks me like a stone
Drowning in feelings
I never truly have peace of mind
When my heart searches for love and more, more
Heartbroken
Passing out love like candy
Desiring a love I cannot have
Damn this heart of mine
This
Heart
Of
Mine
Damn
I ask again
Why?

Deadly Games We Play

The deadly games we play

She crept in my mind
Very slowly
The effect of smoking cannabis
Her love sank in
Like the bite of a rattlesnake
Only more deadly
My own fault for provoking it
Taunting love I gave
How sweet the taste
Upon my lips
Stricken by your venom
Your way of loving
Me in return
They say love hurts
I would have to agree
Loving you is painful
But yet still delightful
I am like a shadow
Returning at first light
At your door
You will find me
Will you let me in?
Desiring one more taste
Forbidden fruit
My beautiful sin
Let the madness begin.

Purified By Fire

Purified through fire

You are my sunshine
The light that shines through
The darkness
Finding me in that hiding place
Where as a child was my safe house
Away from fear
Away I went
Thank you for that helping hand
When I stumbled
You always seem to be by my side
Through the bad times
It was your hand that wiped away the tears
Chasing away the pity little fears
I never got a chance to thank you
Never got a chance to say how I feel
So I say it now
With these words
Without you there would be hell in my life
I thank you
For the love you give
For the forgiveness of your heart
You are the shade when the sun is at the highest point
You are the fire that keeps me warm
When nights are cold
I been searching for you
Now I know you never left my side
So today
I give you the praise
May this humble servant
Bring your heart joy
By my repentance
By my surrendered heart
