Reading/Knowledge Is Power

Page after page
My nose in a book
I read intently
As the words
Form pictures
In my mind
What power.
With one look.

Imagination runs wild,
There is nothing
Like the thrill,
The ride,
 thoughts race
Like a roller coaster
Going through
its paces
Giving you chills.

It’s a rainbow
Of translations,
If you will.
Get on it,
And feel the inclination
To soar
Until
You’ve had enough.
But is it ever?
Never

You see,
Once you start
It’s too tough
To get off
That ride
That makes
You smart
To begin with.
You are filled
With exhilaration
And with pride.

Reading takes you
to the top,
To the power
of knowledge!
Knowledge is power,
A roller coaster
That never stops.

Fantasy

As you smile at me
Lush, beautiful waterfalls
    Fall gently below

  Aquamarine lakes
Shimmer in the golden sun
 As light waves roll in

   Foliage blooms here
In extravagant, bright colors
 And thrilling scents tease.

Oh my, what a scene-
   I am in a fantasy
When you gaze at me.

Love Snuck Up On Me

Love snuck up on me
like a thief in the night
One day I saw an angel
   then I saw the light.

For no longer could I see
and no longer could I ignore
this man standing next to me
    made my spirits soar.

  Love snuck up on me
     like a thief
     in the night.
   Oh yes, it did
   and it grabbed
   me real tight.
  Love snuck up on me
    and it never
   felt so right!

Gerri

Generous, never stops giving
Energetic, never stops helping
Really loves her kids
Really lovable character
Is a dear, loving sister and I love her too.

Sweet Caress

Your sweet caress&#
Holds me all night﷯﷯
Makes me feel oh, so right.﷯﷯
﷯﷯Your sweet caress ﷯﷯
Holds me with care﷯﷯
The way you touch ﷯﷯
And stroke my hair﷯﷯
Puts me in a daze﷯﷯
Catches me unaware. ﷯﷯
﷯﷯Hug me, kiss me﷯﷯
All night through,﷯﷯
In return, I will give all﷯﷯
My love to you.﷯﷯
﷯﷯Your sweet caress ﷯﷯
Is what I love best.﷯﷯
Hold me, forever,﷯﷯
My love,﷯﷯
And forget all the rest.﷯﷯
Hold me and touch me﷯﷯
With your ﷯﷯
Sweet Caress.

Summer Splash

As I bask in the warmth
of the sun,
hear the children
play and run,
I lie still and see
Butterflies and ladybugs
flying quietly by me
to join in the Summer Splash.

 Shouts of joy and
excitement bring me
 to my senses;
The thrill of teenagers
and surfer boys
shouting Ahoy!
I sit up and focus
my sunglass’ lenses.
There, I see them, and no
longer able to ignore
the fun to be had, I
Join in the beach
 volleyball game
On the shore!
Time to enjoy a Summer Splash!

Spring Magic

Plants bloom
bees zoom
Earth comes
to life, as the sun
rays enter the room.

The planet is
teeming with
lively activity
and as spring
enters, with
apparent gaiety.

The grass is green
skies are blue
forests abundant with
life as everything grows
fresh and all anew.

The time for spring is near
let's enjoy the great sun
Spring Magic is upon us,
each and every one.

Ceramics

Take a slab, roll it,
punch it, hit it once
or twice, enjoy the feel
of wet clay in your hands.
Then make
any shape
And
perfect it,
hey, maybe it
could be in the form
of an ape,
Or it could be into
a bowl or tile, hey,
take your time--
Having fun with art
is like rhyme.
Go ahead, try it
You’ll find it’s fun
and if its not right,
then make another one.

My Hero

When you came to me
I was brokenhearted and blue
you took an interest in me, love
and I instantly knew

that you were then my hero
soft-spoken and softhearted
you showed me what it felt like
to receive true love and know
it has only started.

Today I still feel that love
as warm as it could be
and I am still in love with you
my hero, true and sweet.

California

Valley with streams
once filled with gold,
now has towns both
new and old
mountains and hills
and flat plains
curvy roads and
flat terrains

Old and young frolic
along in the sands
Ride on trains
or rush down
in roller coasters,
while raising their hands.

For work or fun,
to walk or run,
in sunshine or sun,
California is number one!
