Happy

John was as a free bird, happy,
Living his life, happy.
When others were sad John, happy,
When John did go no one, happy.
For life is not long at all,
And man is a shadow on a wall,
A wall of time.

John our dearly departing
Death will end his suffering.
Cruel death will do him a favor,
As he will carry him to his Savior.
Writing his will he creates the kiss of death;
This kiss marks him till his final breath.

Here comes a pale horse click, clack, click, clack
Upon it sits Death click, clack, click, clack.
Death rides down the street,
He stops, he looks
For the man with no heart beat,
He enters more silently than the best of crooks.

Death left while carrying John,
Got on his horse and carried on.
John is now in Heaven;
Where no heathen
Nor sickness roam,
Sitting by the white throne;
Walking on the streets of gold;
Never to become old.
Happy... Happy...
Eternally... Happy...

Praise Ye the Lord

Praise ye the Lord, all His people;
Sing songs of praise to Him on high;
Shout to make the earth tremble;
Grow wings and start to fly.

Praise ye the Lord, all his children;
Sing songs of worship to His Name;
Shout praise from the tops of every mountain;
Grow spiritually to never more be the same.

Praise ye the Lord, all His servants;
Sings songs of majesty to the King;
Shout and proclaim to every continent;
Grow as a tree planted by a water's spring.

Praise ye the Lord, all ye saints;
Sing songs of thanks for His mercy;
Shout His gospel before it is too late;
Grow and rise above the enemy.

Praise ye the Lord, all ye nations;
Sing songs of His presence in the wind;
Shout of how His love is our salvation;
Grow to edify and to others be kind.

Praise ye the Lord, all ye heavens;
Sing songs of His glory as bright as the stars;
Shout of the Light that He has given;
Grow as the moon in the night and receive His scars.

A Dream

What does this resting lady?
She has done nothing but sleep lately.
She talks as she dreams.
She talks of lying on a flower bed
Trapped between two roaring streams,
With a log as a pillow for her head.

She wakes as night turns to day,
And in the morning wind the trees begin to sway.
As all the birds begin to flirt,
Two creatures emerge from the dirt;
One a smooth calm creature
The other rough, alive, and larger.

They approach her as she is caught in fright,
Because she knows not who to trust
They suddenly scream and start to fight,
All because of coveting lust,
To gain or lose the fair maiden.
Will it be the gentle or the heathen?

From their yelling she picks out names;
There is calm Sleep and Awake the untame.
Then they quickly race toward the stream,
To get to her before she ends her dream.
They take a step then leap ,and toss
Their bodies in that river non could cross.

She knows not who to help,
As they both begin to yelp.
"Do I save calm Sleep,
And let Awake brave the deep;
Or do I save Awake,
For sleep to break."

As she debates
To choose her mate,
She grabes for calm Sleep,
And begins to sink in the flowers, deep.
This dream of hers, she never will beat;
For she chooses the same forever to repeat...

Truth of Praise

Anyone can praise God,
But it takes a true heart to worship Him.

Too Late

People say it's too late for us...
As we get of life's bus,
And travel our separate directions;
But our sparks are disguised as explosions.
All we want is to love but time interferes,
And distance serves as loves boundaries...

It is said love come slow...
And we little time before we go.
If it is to be love will prevail,
But regret will make us fail.
I wish I could tell you but I know not how.
If only you would read this here and now...

Tom

Tom, he was a soldier and a fighter.
No man could be more bold,
Than Tom, our beloved brother.
A stubborn man, but a heart of gold.
A trader who knew how to deal;
He could get a diamond from an orange peel.

But Tom walked on the road of sin,
And knew nothing but trouble till Mercy walked in.
His expression turned from frown to smile,
As his name was put in the Lamb's book file.
He changed from a sinful wretch
To the Fisher of Man's greatest catch.

Loving father and caring brother,
There is no man any kinder.
With his old harmonica he expressed
His faith as he continually pressed,
Pressed toward the mark of a better Christian,
For this in eternity he shall have his mansion.

Along life's road he did ride,
'Till, Death, Sin's servant said,
"No more on earth will you reside."
Then took his life and left his body on his bed.
As Tom passed on, the angel Gabriel did take his hand
To lead him up to eternity's promised land.

Along the path to eternity,
They passed those fools so poor and weary;
Those fools who in life thought,
That there placement in Heaven could be bought.
But they did not stop, but continued with great speed,
As if they road upon a great white steed.

As they went through earth's atmosphere,
Visions like dreams began to appear.
They flew by visions as they did go,
Where Christ on Calvary His love did show
Upon that tree of sin and grief,
That we from sin might find relief.

As they reached that jasper wall,
Those pearly gates so grand and tall;
They did swing, swing open wide
To reveal the place where he will abide.
They went down the streets of gold.
Truths to his questions start to unfold.

As they approached God's throne so grand,
He recognizes Christ by his scarred hand
Sitting in his right hand position.
God points to Tom's house with a finger of light.
When Tom saw his mansion
He said, "Dad burn, this sucker 's a sight."

The Gift

By: Isaiah Powell

A world of sin and wickedness.
The only cleansing a blood sacrifice,
But only for a short time it lasted,
So God sent The Gift so blessed
The Gift to be virgin born.
The Gift to live a life of scorn.
The Gift to be refused and rejected.
Righteousness The Gift perfected.
King of all but no friends had The Gift.
Come to earth for our burdens to lift.
The Gift never sinned nor ever did wrong.
The Gift was mocked as he preached along.
The Gift was punished upon Mount Calvary.
The Gift was crucified for you and me.
The Gift knew his purpose and followed it through.
The Gift's goal was to pardon me and you.
The Gift was Jesus and is living today,
Because he arose on the third day.
The Gift sits on the Father's right hand
To plead for our pardon in that Distant Land...

Sonrise

The streets were filled in Jerusalem,
But not to celebrate the Passover.
Scorners joyfully mocked Him,
The true were saddened to see Him suffer,
As He carried the cross upon His shoulders,
As He wore a thorn-made crown.
He hung upon Calvary with the guilty others.
He could have called angels to take Him down,
But He chose to bare the sins of the world and die.
That day the world was filled with blackened sky.
They placed Him in a grave, sealed by stone;
Thinking that He was, surely, gone.
But on the third day, there arose a Son.
In that morning: a SonRise like none had seen.
On Sin's darkest day, the brightest Son arose:
A Savior rising from beyond Death's horizon.
Hallelujah! Jesus, my Savior and Lord arose,
And in Sin's darkest night, we are given Heaven's own bright Son.

Dmv

I  had to renew my drivers license;
This is stupid this makes no sense.
No one cares what I think,
So went to the DMV, boy it stinks.
I got a number six-eight-one.
They said an hour then I'd be done;
That was a lie an hour later, six-five-
nine,
I would run up and cut in line
But that's not allowed, six-six-zero.
Two hours later ,six-seven-eight.
Dinner in an hour; I will be late.
Six-seven-nine, oh boy I'm close;
Relief I've found that no one else
knows.
My paper are in hand and I'm ready,
Six-eight-zero, my heartbeat steady
I'm next in line, oh boy it's my turn.
Come on, hurry, I'm hungry, dadburn,
I sit for what seems like hours.
And I start dreaming of burgers.
Then they call six-eight-two,
They skipped me, but what can I do?
I must go to the front desk,
To try again and take another risk.

Prayer For Strength Five Words

Oh, blessed Redeemer worthy of praise,
Send down your attention my way.
I ask that you strengthen my ways,
That I might serve You today,
The gift You have given me,
Is worth more than I can dream.
For it has saved me and made me happy.
I know You have given much, still it seems,
That I need to ask a little more from You:
Send me strength to tell the world their fate,
That I might tell them of Your grace so true,
That I might reach their souls before it is too late.
This my prayer, Lord: give me strength.
To witness Your gospel to the lost.

Five Words used:Praise, Gift, Dream, Happy, Late
