The Black Dog

The black dog comes without warning
it meanders inside my head
teasing me, testing me, pushing me to
the limit of human endurance.

I hate my weakness. I abhor the crazy
mixed up tears that roll valiantly down
my pale grey cheeks, fatigue envelopes
me in an ice cold shower - I shiver.

There is no respite from pain, though I
beg these feelings to desist. In this dull
ruinous life love lays in the black midden
Where the faeces is rancid on a summers day.

Is it just the grave that awaits me? NOOOO
Perish the thought, I need to live before I die.
I sit upon my garden seat, I pretend not to see that
black rook, I know it is waiting to pick my bones.

I open my little black book, erase all the names of
my past lovers. I pray to the Lord to forgive my
past. Please Lord, let me live before I die...
Release the black dog that haunts me so.

No Need For Words

Oh my! How delicious was my Sunday morning -
My lover, he gazed deep into my sleepy eyes
In silence, he held my gaze in silence
For what seemed like aeons,
He brushed back my hair in silence
He caressed my bare shoulder - in silence
Two souls became one in silence,
There was no need for mere words,
Our eyes did the talking.
It was a transcendental moment,
He was me, I was him, silent salty tears
Of pure unadulterated joy trickled
Down my cheeks, I knew in that moment
If I ever get to be in God's tender embrace
Behind those pearly gates, it sure won't
Better that sweet moment in my lovers embrace.

"Love is when you look into your loved one's eyes
and go all the way into their soul, and you both know... instantly."

When the Snow Fell

When The Snow Fell
You released me from
A living hell

The fire burned bright in the log cabin
The snow fell silent outside,
You held me close into the night

I threw caution to the wind
Offering you my body with love,
A man like you was so hard to find

Till I met you I had lost the will to live,
You brought joy into my life
I taught you how to jive

We laughed and giggled like kids
We dined on each others bodies
Sucking, tasting kissing eyelids

Nothing my darling was taboo,
We loved and laughed night and day
All my dreams came true just loving you

When the snow fell
You took me to Nirvana.
