Lilith Rodriguez Poem
My country is home,
I have no fear.
My country is home,
and I am here.

Lilith Rodriguez Poem
They’ve traveled from one house to another.
Some may say they’re strong enough to go on
Without a woman to call their mother.
Attachment is pointless, soon to be gone.
Another house that will never be home.
Little children crying themselves to sleep,
wondering where they will be next to roam.
All they can do is to hope and to weep.
Will they love me enough now, I wonder.
Shall I go away or shall I stay here?
At night, I can still hear the loud thunder
of his footsteps drawing so very near.
Though I may never find my one true home,
For love, I’ve found- I’m no longer alone.

Lilith Rodriguez Poem
There’s a lady dressed in white.
She smiles in the morning light.
There’s a man who’s dressed in brown.
He scowls as the sun goes down.
There’s a girl who’s dressed in blue
Who got her hands stuck in glue.
There’s a boy who’s dressed in red.
It’s not his clothes, he’s just dead.

Lilith Rodriguez Poem
The soft snow falls down.
The dark, cold evening cries out
A call in winter chill.

Lilith Rodriguez Poem
Everyone's jealous,
I don't see why.
Do they know at night,
I try not to cry?
Pouring out tears,
the bruises are endless.
But they're all fooled,
What a great actress.
"But you're popular,"
they say,
"Everyone loves you."
They don't love me,
they just notice me
making my way through
this miserable place
that we call Earth.
Countless days
holding back tears,
after a slap on the cheek
caused by a dirty dish
left in the sink.
