It Is Nothing But a Rose

It was nothing but a rose...
A beautiful rose, a sweet rose, but a rose nonetheless.
And it grew and it bloomed.
And for a while, it made him happy.
But no rose lasts forever.

It was nothing, but a...
But a tragedy, a bitter sweet summer love.
But a facade, for it wasnt true.
But a joyous thing, for it made him happy.
But a rose.

It was nothing, but-
But it made him happy, was that not enough?
But it was love, was it not?
But it was true, it was concrete, right?
But... i no longer know if i want it.

It was nothing.
It never existed.
It doesnt exist.
It never will exist.
And so it was, so it is, and so it will be.

It was...
It was a summer rose.
It arose in the early spring.
It died in the late summer.
It was, but, it'll never be.

It.
It was a horrid thing.
It was non-existent.
It was an amazing thing.
It was nothing but a summer rose.

The Moon and Sun

Said the moon to the sun one day,
"Oh why you majestic thing must you avoid me?
And forever escape my rays?
Forever lying with the darkness, yes He!"

Said the moon to the sun the very next night,
"You ask me why I escape from you?
And hide from your blinding light?
I hide for I do not love you, and despite me saying so, honeyed words you still coo!"

"Fine! If you will not listen to my plea,
Then I will take you by storm and fire!"
The Sun cried out in fury
An as he did so, the tempurature grew higher..

The moon cried out for him to stop.
Everyone, even the stars cried out for the sun to stop
For her, who was shielding herself from the heat's great wallop
Crying out to the Darkness for one last boon.

The Darkness with great care
Took her home
Protecting and healing her with great nobility and dare!
Then helping her into the dark sky that nothing but a great dome

Waxing and waning for eternity
The moon almost dying, only to be saved by the Darknesses loving touch
All this because of the sun, yes He!
The moon enduring all this pain just to escape the sun's clutch

Said the moon to the Sun every night,
"You asked why I escaped,
And hid from your blinding light?
I hid for I did not love you, and because I said so, you try to kill me, Yes you do..."

Pride

I remember growing up
With my family splitting apart
Whenever some small problem would erupt
Everyone's piercing gazes like razor-sharp darts

Why did you have so much pride?
Took it with you till you died
Why did you have to,
Yes, I'm talking to you,
Have so much pride?

I think it must have been some kind of cruel joke
That to see my cousins someone had to have a stroke
Is pride that cold, that mean?
No, this must be some kind of cruel dream

I remember that my cousin had to die
To undoe all the pain, all the lies
Now we drift apart again, in two my heart has been rend
When will this cycle of pain end!

Why did you have so much pride?
Took it with you till you died
Why did you have to,
Yes, I'm talking to you,
Have so much pride.

As I speak to you through these words here
I shed countless tears
Cause I just learned I had a niece barely a year old
Or so I'm told.

Why did you have so much pride?
You have all left my side
Left me here all alone
To take care of all my own
Why did you have to,
Yes, I'm talking to you
Have so much pride...

Untitled

Fake smiles. Pretty eyes.
All inside these little white lies.
Dead inside but that's okay.
I still exist day after day.

Heartbroken, Oh well.
That just makes this a living hell.
But that's okay.
I still exist day after day

Oh I don't know how it happened
Like a song you half-ways forgot.
I fell in love, oh what a joy.
Sickly sweet, like the smell of rot.

She was beautiful, but they always are.
Blue Green eyes and brown hair
A smile like starlight
Broke my heart without a care

She left me (they always do)
I'm angry, hurt and confused
During the night, I don't know what to do
To lack happiness is what I do.

Her fake smiles. Her pretty eyes.
All inside those little white lies
Dead inside? That's okay.
I'll still exist day after day.

Heartbroken? Oh well
That just makes "life" a piece of hell.
But that's okay.
Because I'll still endure day after day.

Because I'll never forget.
That first "true" love.
Tragic and painful
Like a dead dove
