Olanrewaju Akinbola Poem
Like an alley cat you crouch,
ready to pounce in an instant.
A touch!
gentle, yet arrogant.
Tendrils of your hair
wrapped around my fragile soul;
I gasp for air
for I can't even feel my sole.
While I left the door to my heart ajar,
you snaked your paw in.
Can't you see you've gone too far?
My breath grows thin.
Deep is the scar you left in my heart;
still, I'll bear the heat.
Your words are poisonous darts.
...you blew me a kiss of deceit.

Olanrewaju Akinbola Poem
Man's fate lies with the gods
Let no one forget the odds
Lest, he shake hands with death
And sleep without breath.
Ceaselessly, the weavers weave
The very fabric of his life
Through the gate
He'll walk with a little faith
On this path lies his real fate
A thin ice on whose cold brink he skates
He's just a pawn
For the gods move him like a clown
