At Least I Tried

When you were down, I helped you up. 
Even when you said you didn't need me, I 
always gave more than enough.
You were sick & I was your medicine. 
You were hurt & I was your band aid.
You were lost & I was your GPS. 
You called me your One Thing...
That One Thing everyday that made 
everything better.  
I made you, you .
I was made for you.
You couldn't tell me I wasn't yours , because I 
knew you were mine. 
All this love, all this hope & all this faith but 
you still gave me up like I wasn't anything to 
you.  
I was yours,  you're supposed to trust me
Trust that I wouldn't hurt you..
Trust that I had your back..
Trust that I couldn't & wouldn't live without 
you..
Not one breath...
Not one tear...
I was there, not them.
I am numb now but one I will feel this pain & 
it will come hard ! 
But after the pain & tears are gone.....
At least I can say. I tried.
