The Daydream

To lie in grass while warm breeze blows

Just aware of a sunlit sky

Slumber lightly, slowly, slightly

A half dream serenades the mind

To lie at peace, weightless and warm

Barely know the clear blue sky

Senses dim, then fade then gone

To wake anew, refreshed, reborn

Greed

Greed

Entitled by birth
So sure of his worth
A spawn of the upper crust seizes
Most any and all
Nay modest or small
His share of whatever he pleases
From a child to a man
The little prince can
Never enjoy what he sees is
His mountain of stuff
Though never enough
Claims his soul while he overseas it.
That quest for the till
That vast want unfilled
Binds the man to the thought that he needs it
The substance he craves
Though his being depraved
Will be free only when he concedes it.

Pray For Peace But Live For War

Man Prays for Peace but Lives for War

Mankind dreams of peaceful life
Of days of sun, of minute strife
His prayers for peace though seem to me
Just words not felt, not meant to be
If peace man wants than peace he brings
He’ll change, he must abandon things
His need for war, his need to kill
To conquer all, to leave all still
To share the earth not knowing grief
To honor those who lived so brief
Then man will come to know himself
His being part of commonwealth
Than man shall see and man shall know
A man alone shall never grow.

Rain On Leaves and Breeze Through Trees

RAIN ON LEAVES
AND BREEZE THROUGH TREES
REMINDS ME WHAT
IT OUGHT TO BE.

A FEEL WITH ONLY SENSES,
TRUE.
I THINK OF ME.
AND THINK OF YOU.

AND THINK OF US
AND PRICELESS THINGS,
THINGS THAT MATTER,
THINGS THAT BRING;

A PERFECT THOUGHT,
A MEMORY,
I SEE YOU THERE.
YOU SEE ME HERE?

AHH…SWEET SWEET NIGHT
THE BREEZE STILL BLOWS.
I’LL SLEEP TONIGHT
AND THINK OF YOU.

Ode To the Guard

You stand erect as we approach
In weather dark and weary
You smile with firmness in your voice
To perform your ID query
With courtesy and due respect
You verify our station
The mission of your post we know
Ensures our safe protection
Through cold and dark and wet and wind
You guard your post without chagrin
Our first line of defense begins
With you, the guard of nations.

Beware of All Hollows Eve

Beware, do beware of all hollows eve,

Many have heard but few understood,

And far far fewer believe.

Once, long ago on that very night,

Came a man on a mighty black steed,

He plodded along through a darkening storm,

Seeking vengeance for apparent misdeed.

He rode to an Inn and soaked to the skin,

Made quite a sight to be seen.

Seems most of his head, had been smashed off and dead,

But his senses were quick and still keen.

The other guests stared as the inn keep prepared,

To make room for the man with half head.

He sized up the game then fiercely proclaimed

I’ll not need a pillow or bed.

I’m looking for men with money to spend,

They’ve stolen my savings and then.

They killed me you see with the limb of a tree,

But you’ll note that I’m sort of not dead.

I’ll find them tonight and cause such a fright,

I’ll make them regret what they stole.

Your reward will be fine if you help me to find,

Those men who took money and soul.

The crowd only stared, froze in fear, looking scared,

When a child from the back spoke his mind.

I’ve seen several men with money to spend,

And blood on their hands you will find.

Take me to them, make haste my young friend,

On your word your reward does rely.

So they set off this pair with no time to spare,

To make right what occurred by and by.

They found the two men, drunk and slovenly then,

Keeping warm with a bottle and fire.

As the pair made their way to the men’s lair they say,

That the drunks and the dead man conspired.

Seems the trick was the boy and the three would enjoy,

A feast most rare and divine.

The ghouls though it seemed made a meal most extreme,

From that child and some mulberry wine.

So beware do beware of those that look dead,

Stay inside stay alive avoid all with smashed head.

Bar your door seal you home till the night takes its leave,

And don’t wander out on all hollows eve.

This Government Is Us

This Government is us.

The last time we were this divided civil war began.
Each party must make way for the other regardless of color,
Red, blue, black, brown, yellow or white.
The Demublicants and Repoblicrats thrive on our ignorance.
If they can't reverse their cranial rectal insertion, we can replace them
 all.
Money feeds this monster; money buys friends where they count.
Money is not free speech; money buys favors, and not for us.
Our votes are not for sale; my vote is not for sale.
We're Americans, we own this Government, and this Government is us.
Let's take it back and make it work.
 Vote.

Pride In the American Troop

They held the field, men side by side,
Their will intact, their fears subside.
They mustered in so many fields,
And held the ground, refused to yield.
At Lexington went toe to toe,
With British troops, a worthy foe.
McHenry saw our banner fly,
Against a burning brightened sky.
At Antietam, when thousands died,
They calmed themselves, fought on with pride.
On the Eastern front fought hard and well,
To rid the world of immoral hell.
The Ardennes saw fight most severe,
The troops fought, fought through their fear.
The Pacific saw men die galore,
To turn the tide at Corregidor.
At Heartbreak ridge fought through the night,
With Stand or Die their mantras might.
Khe Sahn saw men fall in droves,
When overwhelmed by local foes.
Fallujah helped the world to see,
The need to fight insurgency.
Khandahar pit the American,
Against the dreaded Taliban.
Our troops maintained, our troops prevailed,
Against each foe our troops assailed.
And though they fought with honor deep,
The fight they fought for peace to keep.

Morning

Birdsong fills the air with sound so sweet
the morning sun dapples the lawn,
Shades of green from glowing to dark
Water gently bubbles from a hidden spring
Movement, so slight it should be missed
A breeze so gentle it’s barely felt
The wealth of nations can’t
buy this peace.

You'Ll Do Fine

You wake up each day
And believe what you may
But your life is a part on the stage
Your daily routine
Though it seems most serene
Adds drama and strife to the page
As your story unfolds
And complexity grows
Has the life that you’ve lived seem fulfilled
Ask yourself to defend
Your performance and then
Note: we all play a part in this guild
Know you’re never alone
And though each plays their own
Part of life in this story divine
Till the end comes around
And the curtain comes down
Play your part to the hilt, you’ll do fine.
